FIFA 2001
Review by TURTLETOWN
"Best Multiplayer game yet (for ps2)"
It is the ultimate accomplishment if a developer can produce a sports game that can hold my attention for more than a week. EA sports has tackled this feat, and released FIFA Major League Soccer 2001 for Playstation 2.
This game features awesome graphics, incredible game play, and sound so realistic, you'll think you were really there, in the middle of a huge, English stadium, surrounded by drunken, violent fans. (Run-On sentence)
Graphics 9- The graphics in the game are really well done. The player models move sharp, and smoothly, which really helps when performing special moves. It really proves that sports games do evolve on new platforms. The graphics do slow down on occasion, but it never effects game play.
Sound 10- The sound in FIFA 2001 is incredible. The menus feature music by popular English DJ's, and one by Moby. These songs really give you the feeling of hype needed for a soccer match. The in-game sound really takes the cake though. The crowd explodes and boos depending on the action, and will break into team-specific cheers at will. It really puts you in the action.
Game play 10- This game plays very, very nicely. When you begin on the amateur difficulty level, you will get used to the innovative use of the turbo button, and how to time and power your shots. Move up to the Professional level, and learn how to tackle, and avoid being tackled. When the difficulty is turned to world class, you must plot strikes, use touch passing, and special moves to outwit the defense. This makes scoring a goal incredibly rewarding, like it should be. There Are:
-Season Modes
-custom players, tournaments
-World cup & more
Multi player 10- This is awesome. Get a multitap or two, and go crazy. Me and my friends make different tournaments, and the fun and pressure are incredible.
Buy or rent Buy.
This game is actually a lot of fun when played solo. The season, when played on professional or world class, is very involving and fun. There are so many teams, and different tournaments to win, you are never really finished, unless you have a lot of time. After you learn to kick ass, get yourself some friends, a multitap, and make custom tournaments. I guarantee you will have a blast. Peace.
