"I don't care if monday's black, tuesday wednesday heart attack"

Often times I just sit. I just sit in my room and I ponder about life. Why we're here, what everyone else in the world is doing at that moment, what they're thinking at that moment, and so on and so forth. It's a very complicated thought-process. On a related subject, Twisted Metal: Black is pretty cool, but is it... perfect?

Graphics: Can't complain after playing the (now) ugly Twisted Metal 2 and the (always) ugly Vigilante 8/2nd offense games. The stages are detail and allow a decent amount of interaction with the environment. The cars are also detailed, and the explosions are second to none.

Sounds: Music is aokay, sound effects are aokay.

Presentation: It's the gift that keeps on giving. Not only do you get some nice introductions for each character, you also get nice CG endings for them as well. Great move by Incognito studios to actually have a storyline that everyone can understand (cough tekken cough).

Gameplay: Remember Twisted Metal 2? Well this game would be exactly like Twisted Metal 2, except it's actually Twisted Metal 5. Thank GOD Incognito adopted the TM2 control scheme and stayed away from the awfulness of TM 3/4. Let me just say this game is difficult. I don't mean difficult as in ''Hey, I just played for the first time and barely got to the third level =('' I mean difficult as in ''Hey, I played Twisted Metal 2 for years, and then I play this game for an entire day, and I still got beat down hardcore.'' You get used to it though. Once you figure out the best times to use your combos, as well as conserve those precious energy points, you'll get through the game. Oh yeah, the last guy (he's a familiar face to all of us who had Playstation in it's first year of existence, and no he's not from previous Twisted Metal games, but he is from a SingleTrac game) is very difficult. Alright then...

Overall: This game doesn't get a perfect score because no game ever deserves a perfect score. To give something a perfect score is to say it could not be improved on at all, and when has that ever been true? Buy this game. Send Sony more money.
