Mobile Suit Gundam: Journey to Jaburo
Review by Blue comet
"3-D is what all Gundams Need"
While not being as awe-inspiring as some other games are ( or even as long for that matter ) Journey is a very cool item for gundam fans, as it retells the original gundam story with differences made due to the fact your in the middle of a stage. I rank some different qualitys in a game but most of my review should seem typical.
STORY LINE: No game is good without a story to go along with it. Blowing up a building is fun mind you, but more fun when you know it hurts the opposing force. Since the story is from an actual show, its very impressive and gives nice in between scenes after fighting.
VISUALS: aaaaaaaw THE VISUALS!!!! This is very impressive, The gundam is as detailed as it was animated , you can see vents, Joint peices, the guns arent flat poles!!!! Color is bright but not too cartoony, it has wonderful shading , even if it is simplistic. And unlike other games, the pump lines on the back of Zaku II's body have the <::><:;><::> look. Its not just painted on them, it actually changes thickness for the small indents.Backrounds vary, some are plain looking, but others show off very good lanscape and buildings.Falling trees are pretty good for realism( A giant robot walking through woods is bound to do this).
CONTROL: Gundams control is rather bad. It has classic ''turning gives me cramps'' syndrome that a lot of 3-d games have, so i dont see why it is like this. C'mon, we have the technology to make a faster, stronger turn!!!! And The lack of shooting as you dash is annoying.Other then that lock ons are easy, sword or mace fights are easy, and my fav. flying is easy. But my god i need to turn!!!!
MENU/ MENU INTERFACE: yes this is something i add to my reviews. Beings there is nothing to customize or repair, this games menus are to-the-point.Pick a weapon?? Click Click Done! I like that. No Hassle about It,Get to the action! Also you unlock Two menus And get a Gallery of gundams music and video. Not bad.
LET FREINDS BORROW: No. Youll Want to keep this one near you if your a gundam fan, and its a game that, if damaged, will get you angry. Unlike Midnight Club, which replay goes down every day you look at it, So when your freind borrows you forget for a while. And when you remember , dont care too much. You will miss this one if even just for the gallery.
REPLAY: high value, beings its realllllll fun to blow up robots, even if it is sorta simple. But the option to select any stage you beat is one people forget to give us gamers, and the addition of it is smiley face worthy :)
ADDICTION:slight.
CHALLENGE: medium, as it decreases when you realize what the enemy is weak against.
OVERALL: For gundam fans, its a 9, for everyone else a seven. It has Enough fun quality while retaining the '' i need to do this mission'' feel.In multiple enemy fights pressure is felt,And the game rocks!!That doesnt exactly make a complete thought but its true.Go Now PLAY. Stop reading and PLAY.
