Madden NFL 2002

"The Smash Follow Up"

One of the best questions out there is ''How do you follow up to one of the greatest games of all time?''. The answer...Madden 2002. Madden 2001 was amazing. Great gameplay,control,graphics,sound and great new features such as pressure sensitive hits and jukes. I couldn't get enough of it. The boys at EA Sports had done it again,scoring big with NHL 2001, FIFA 2001 and Nascar 2001 and I can't wait to see what they have in store for the 2002's of those games.
Madden 2002 didn't not seem like it was going to be a great game to me personally, but since I was out and my mom was there, I thought I might give it a try.This was not like me, buying a game before renting it, but I thought ''oh I probably won't be able to rent it for a while because everybody and their cousin will have it and I probably won't be able to get it for awhile. But hey, who cares its just another Madden game. Surely not as good as the first one for PS2. I got home, hopping my mother had saved the receit.Now I just hope she has thrown it out. Madden 2002 is one of the most outstanding games I have played in my life(I'm only 14 so I wasn't around for the old ping-pong of Atari).
The new game modes such as Training Mode-where you can earn tokens just for just practicing a couple of plays and formations,2-Minute-Drill-where you have 2 minutes to score as many touchdowns as you can.
The graphics are off the wall.The sound is unbelievable. I could of sworn I heard some guys helmet pop right off of him and hit the ground right after I popped him with Charles Woodson.The gameplay is also amazing with the returns of the pressure sensitive jukes and hits. also either I didn't know about it before because I never used it which is most likely or it wasn't in the first game but the pump fakes are cool.
So to all gamers out there, Don't be skeptical like I was. Don't even bother going to your local video store and renting Madden NFL 2002. It's a waste of money,energy(if you haft to walk to your local video store)or gas(if you have to drive the like myself). Just go buy it. Madden NFL 2002 is one game that should be in every gamers PlayStation2 video game library.
