Review by Mr Pibb

"You get what you pay for!"

I was in the market for a new game. Being the cheap-skate that I am, I went for the least expensive game at the store.
Every game was $54.99 + tax, except Gallop Racer 2001, which was only $49.99.

''A horse racing game? Ah, what the hell, I'll get it!'' Is what I said to myself when I saw the game. But when I saw the demo on the tv, I really did think I got the better deal. Well, the game isn't that bad. Read the full review below.

Ok, so here's the review.

Graphics: Mind blowing. These graphics truely make me happy that I bought a PS2. The horses are really real looking, and the tracks are dull, but dull in a good looking way. From the replay, you could be fooled into thinking you're watching real horses.

Sound: Eh. I dont listen to sound in any game other than the street fighters, so I'll go test it out now.....Ok, the music is kind of catchy, and the effects aren't that bad. But I'd rather listen to...uh, Michael Jackson! :P

Control: Perfect. What the hell can you do to ruin this? You move the horse, and you whip it. Thats it.
10000000/10 (or 10/10)

Fun Factor: I like whips, I like horses. I never saw horse racing before (well, only in movies). This game is a fun alternative to riding the horse in a race, and since I'm way too big to be a jockey, this will do. The create a jockey is fun, and mating the horses is hillarious.
9/10

Replay: They say 1000's of hours of replay on the box. But, I highly doubt you'll play this that long. I might pick it up and play....after I beat the 10+ games on my to-play stack. But it did hold my attention for an initial 12 hours, so it's not THAT bad.
7/10

Overall ???: Well, I'm not upset that I got Gallop Racer 2001. It's a limited printing for a reason! If you like horse racing, pick this game up. If you want to play one of the hardest games on the PS2 (horse racing hard? you better belive it is! man, I can only do 3rd place) then this is for you. So, get this game if you want a challange, like horse racing, like horses, like to whip them, or just have $49.99 to blow.

8/10
