Mobile Suit Gundam: Journey to Jaburo

"Gundam Given Well Earned Dues"

Ever since Gundam Wing first came out, I have been doing research on all kinds of Gundams and the series they belong too. I believe that I have become a kind of moblie suit Guru to those who know me, and not just Gundam. I also have looked up Robotech, a little Mechwarrior, and Armored Core.

-Graphics-
The graphic on this game are very good. They have good detail on the shape of the weapons, the size of each mobile suit, and the detail to back ground is very cool. They even gone so far as to detail the mobile suits to such a high grade that you can see where pieces of armor come together, and other little details that other games don't have.

-Sound-
The only part of the sound that I didn't like was the people on the other end of the intercom: they were to hard to hear, plus, they only complained and didn't help at all. But sound effects where perfect. The sound in the game matched those in the cartoon. The sniper's rifle is the same as the one in the 08th MS Team, and the sound of the ships were also accurate. Even the footsteps, and the blades heating up added to the game.

-Gameplay-
After playing Armored Core 2 a lot, Gundam was kind of sluggish, but this isn't AC. In fact I like the whole pause between strafing left to right. It added a touch of realism that AC doesn't have. I also like how they made the mobile suits jump and not fly, when you went up, you came down, no questions asked. The reloading and the overheating weapons also added realism to the game.

-Authenticity-
After researching and watching the shows, I know that this game is very close, if not exact, to the shows. They even got most of the voices from the show in the game: Very Cool. The cartoons and CG movies follow the show to the T. The overall designs and weapons of every mobile suit is identical to that of the show, as well as the different color schemes for every mobile suit.

-Overall-
Overall, this game is one of the best that I have played. If not for the faulty intercom equipment in your mobile suit, this game would most certainly have got a ten. Which Gundam games should get tens, and with the Playstation 2 and Gamecube, the gaming of Gundams with only get better.
