"Good gameplay, No replay"

Hello again! Madgamer is back with another PS2 review. It's on ATV Offroad Fury. Let's check out the specs.

Gameplay: Wow! There's quite a variety. Let's start with the modes. The first is Training. Simple tutorial. The cool part is that it teaches you wheelies and stunts( neither is useful though). Next is Maxxis Nationals. Here there are 12 beautiful tracks to choose from. Each one a no boundry oasis from tundras to the roughest mountains and greenest forest. Sad thing is, even though the invisible wall is far away, if you stay off course to long, it'll transfer you back to where you went off track( even if this game is called OFFROAD fury). However, you can cut a few corners. Or risk you life in 200+ leaps! Now in Stadium Supercross the same rules apply. Except the bended. Instead of a forest, you're in a stadium. Instead of 12 tracks, there's 7. Instead of life or death jumps, the 20 small jumps in a row or on curves. That's about it. Our next patient is the Waypoint races. You're dropped in about 6 different areas filled WITH 600+ JUMPS. I would hate to be that guy. There are from 7 to 12 checkpoints layed in the area. Be the first person to make it through all of them in the number of laps to win. There's an editor in the options so you put the checkpoints where you want. And what you've been waiting for, Freestyle! Pull of monster tricks at the same places you were at for Waypoint. If you put it on unlimited time, you might rather explore the vast area. And with a friend you'll have a bail contest. Now here's the plump of it all, Pro Career. After Training, you'll dive into this. First, you have to race in the 12 Maxxis tracks. IF you qualify, you go to the stadium. The problem is there's like 14 quads and only like 6 are good. Basically it's Polaris and Ravage. I really dislike the scoring system. At first you have to place 2nd or better. Get 1st a few times in a row then you need 3rd, 4th, 5th. I think they should have used a point system though. A very awesome thing is that you can even tune up your 4 wheeler in shocks, brakes, ect. If you get first( which I almost guarantee you will), you get new clothes and a maxed out ATV! The most important issue is picking the vehicle. Pick a bad one, get ready to start a new file. A good one nets you a win in a few hours( Personally, I used the Eagle). Overall very fun but too short.8/10

Control: Awesome. Once again, and if I've said it once I've said it again, easy to use, hard to master. Actually, it's not hard to master, just takes work. The only hard parts are the clutch while turning( never used it) and braking in air( which isn't helpful). But if you take the time, you can do it.10/10

Sound: Very limited. Yet what's there is awesome. The engine isn't as phony as other games. With each menacing crash, the is a thud. Problem people. A 2 foot drops sounds the same as a 200 foot drop. The music is rap and rock, as expected. Slightly above mediocre.7/10

Graphics: Nice. Very smooth. Not a tremendous amount of detail in the desert, but everywhere else is filled. Everything is nicely shaped like an SUV for example. All the ATV's are pretty much alike except for size and color.8/10

Challenge: Depends. Slightly too easy, but a pain if you pick the wrong ATV.6/10

Replay: Once pro career is done, the game is pretty much done.2/10

Buy, Rent, Burn: ATV fans- BUY! Everybody else should rent.

Well see you next time in the Midnight Club!!!!!
