"What a pleasant surprise"

Reviews of this game have not been kind, but after getting Crusaders of Might and Magic on the Playstation for only $8 new, and liking it, I decided to take a chance on this game, and what a major surprise this has been.
GRAPHICS:(9/10) This game just looks incredible, what more can I say. I love the entire look and feel of it.
CAMERA/CONTROL: (7/10) The controls use every button on the controller and take getting used to at first, but very soon it becomes second nature, though you will hit the wrong button now and again. The camera is excellent and you have full control over it with the right stick; however, corners and tight spots are bad.
MUSIC/SOUND: (8/10) Good music and sound effects. Very eerie stuff too. The sounds of the monsters are excellent.
DIFFICULTY: Variable. I'm playing on the easy level, and it is a challenge, so you can make it as hard as you can take it. You can even repeat worlds that you've finished to build up your stats and potions, but you can do it only after you finish a world and will have to completely finish the old world to move on.
GAMEPLAY: (8/10) There is quite a bit to do here besides just hack and slash. There are Quests to find and finish. Secret areas to find. Assorted puzzles and other things which will increase your stats. If you foul up you may have to repeat the whole world again, for example letting the Ork die instead of saving him in level 1, though I'm not to sure about this.
REPLAY/VALUE: (8/10) I suspect that once you finish this game there would be no reason to replay it; however, you may be replaying world after world looking for all the secrets. It took me over 9 hours to find all 11 secret areas in world 1, and there are 9 worlds, each with 3 levels.
RENT or BUY: If you are the type of person who likes to rush through a game, then this may only be a rental, but if you insist on finding everything, this is a great buy for $29.99.
FINAL THOUGHTS: Forget everything else you have read about this game and take a chance, you won't regret it. Pro tip, on the secret areas, discolored walls are not just done for lighting effects. Final score is 8/10, not an average.
