Para Para Paradise
Review by Aeran
"TRY ME! I Wanna Dance!"
THIS IS THE ULTIMATE MULTI PLAYER GAME! ^_^
All my friends enjoy this game, guys and gals. From inexperienced to experienced, anyone can play the game and have fun.
All you need to do is grab the game and two PPP controllers and you're set!
The game covers a good range of difficulty levels, from the simply basic Para Para difficulty to the Another songs of the Expert difficulty, matching even the caliber of DDR's SSR. The game can be difficult enough to prevent any player from mastering the game within a few tries. Even if mastered, though, the competition keeps everyone in the arena, just like every other BeMani game. For those that can't manage DDR because of it's difficulty, PPP can be easy enough to encompass those people, helping the group atmosphere. Also, when all the DDR songs are exhausted or your legs can't take anymore, PPP witches over to the arms for nonstop dancing, or vice versa.
As an added bonus, and a huge one at that, the game has videos of actual Para Para movements from a professional group, the Para Para All-Stars. From here, you can learn the actual Para Para moves and therefore learn to dance! The Para Para mode is designed for that purpose, and it adds to the fun. Not to mention that for the people that simply can't follow the arrows, oftentimes they can memorize the Para Para moves, so again, no one's left out of the fray.
The game is just as fun freestyle as it is with the actual Para Para moves. Just go with whatever is fun! Note that there are a few songs with movements that it'd be better not to do if you're a guy, but you can figure it out.
Of course, there are always the people that are totally against this genre of games, and that can't be helped.
Many other games, including Konami's other BeMani games, isolate others from a group. But not PPP. You can play from a two player fighting game to an eight player sports game, but it always involves some sort of skill, whether in that type of game or gaming in general. If you don't know how to use the game controller well, you're not going to win a lot, the competition won't be as great, and it's just not as fun. With PPP, the only thing you need to know is how to move your arms. Experience comes easily, just keep playing, and that's not hard!
A final comment is on the music. It's 100% eurobeat. If you hate eurobeat, then it's possible that this game isn't for you. From personal experience though, upbeat music, the presence of friends, and a party atmosphere makes the type music less important than just playing and having fun. As far as I'm concerned, though, I haven't found anyone that hates eurobeat. In fact, you might instead just find yourself trying to stop that ''Boom Boom Fire!''
Hey, the game is even a source of exercise!
So there you go, a 10/10 game. The game is simply worth it. It's not the greatest one player game, although fun, but you simply can't beat it's multiplayer value. Since when is it more fun to party by yourself then with friends?
Need some quotes from the game?
''Everyone is waiting for you!''
''Come onto the stage!''
''Show me your cool dance!''
