Armored Core 2

"A truly great game with a few flaws..."

Okay. This is my first time with any kind of PlayStation hardware and so, this is my first time playing an Armored Core game.

I have to say, this is a great game but with a few flaws that could have been fixed.

Graphics:
The graphics aren't anything special. In fact, they are worse than you could expect on a PS2 game. When a lot of things are going on, it slows down a whole lot. Also, there is no option of changing to view, of course there is a code, but no option.

Overall rating for Graphics is 7.5

Sound:
I can't complain, but I can't recommend it either. The music isn't any funky techno music but it isn't like Heavy Metal. Sound effects are great. There is a different sound when you lock on and a different sound when you shoot different guns.

Gameplay:
Gameplay is terrific! The only way for you to stay hooked on it for a long time is you don't play it 24/7. There are 49 people you have to beat and 100 missions. The arena takes skill and practice to beat. You have to be observant to notice your opponents Core to use the right equipment for him/her. For missions, you must be well-prepared, for you might go short on ammo or health. This game is somewhat real since they're aren't any ammo packs or first aid kits just lying around on the ground. This sounds a little like Doom with ammo packs and first aid packs. After you have completed the game, you can always get all parts and master your technique with everything. The game is endless. This is a challenging game and I don't recommend it to people who do not like games that need experience, games like Luigi's Mansion and junk like that.

Controls:
Controls really stink, especially the L and R buttons. you want to strafe left and you look up or down. And you absolutely need every button so you can't disable some.

I really do not recommend this game to people who do not like real games and simulations. You need practice, concentration, and effort, A LOT OF EFFORT to do everything. Give it your all and do your best, but let me warn you, YOUR BEST ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE GAME!!!
