"This is quake???"

For a long time I have been hearing so many people rave about how good these quake games are. So now I have bought Quake III revolution and I have played it for a while. Now let me tell it was not really worth my fifty dollars.

Gameplay- The gameplay for Q3R is very simple you move around, get a weapon,(chain gun, grenade launcher,BFG-10K etc.)start killing, collect items,(armor, health, ammo and such)GAME OVER. The controls are kind of easy to use especially because there are different controller options. The most important part of Q3R would have to be campaign mode. In campaign mode you go through battles each in a different arena. Though once you have beaten the campaign theres not much left for you to do. Thats why there is a multiplayer mode. In multiplayer mode you can challenge your friends in different battle modes like deathmatch, single weapon deathmatch, possession and many others.

Story- You are a captive fighter battling in the arenas of the Vadrigar. These fights have made you stronger fight after fight. You are planing to get your freedom back by challenging the Vadrigar and defeating him... The story line is pretty decent consider that other shooter games have way more stale story lines.

Graphics- The graphics for Q3A are not that bad in fact they are actually good if you noticed that this is a shooter game. But one big problem is that even though they had the high technology of the PS2 the still couldn't put enough good cut-scenes.

Sound- The sound effects for Q3A are kind of cheesy. They range from various gun shots to different screams of pain depending on the person thats screaming. Though the music is another thing. Like take for example the music playing on the menu screen it gives you the feeling that you are trapped in a prison. Also the music playing during the battles makes you feel like someone is after you and you have to keep moving or you'll die.

Replayability- Like I said once you beat campaign you've practically did it all. Especially since multiplayer mode will only take you so far. Also there are barely any secrets and cheats. Even if you beat the game again and again on the hardest difficulty in campaign you still won't get that much.

Buy Or Rent- I highly suggest that you not blow off your fifty dollars on this game and just rent the game. Unless you are a huge quake fan or something like that then maybe you should consider buying it. If not just rent it.(or steal it if your that low)
