"Prepare to be blown away.."

What makes Frequency any different from the dozens of other Music-Based games out there?
First off, you MAKE the music, Every button you press, or move you make, goes straight into the music, opposed to just 'reacting' to it by having your character dance..
Secondly, instead of using music designed specifically for the game, Harmonix (Creators of the game), went out, and hired mainstream musicians to perform tracks for the game, musicians ranging from Powerman 5000, to No Doubt, to Fear Factory.

Controls The game is easy to control, only 3 buttons (Triangle, Square, and Circle (Or R1, R2, and L1 if you prefer)), You travel down a tube, and as notes pass you, you hit the button that responds with that note, adding that noise to the song. You use Left & Right to switch between tracks (Picking between Guitar, Drum, Bass, Vocal, Sound FX, Scracth, or others).

Gameplay The gameplay is a simple concept, but an addicting one..
You travel down a tube, producing music notes, You start off on a designated track (Such as Drums, or Bass), once you finish that track, you move to one of your choice (Such as guitar, or Vocal), by the end of the level, you have a full blown song going on behind you, Made by you..

Also, theirs a remix mode, allowing you to remix your favorite songs, and play them with friends.

Graphics The graphics are pretty basic, but you dont need graphics in this game, as you wont have time to enjoy them. Graphics appear as a background to your 'tube' you travel through, And include pictures of the band members, band logos, etc.

8/10

Sound the sound is a key part in this game, and it delivers perfectly.
However, to fully enjoy this game, you really need to have your PS2 hooked up to an external audio source (Such as a Dolby Digital Reciever), opposed to your TV.

10/10

Overall
Overall, the game is nearly flawless, and packed with songs.
15 songs (3 unlockables) in EASY mode. 20 (4 Unlockables) in NORMAL mode, and 27 (7 Unlockables) in EXPERT mode, as well as 12 or so remixes included, and hundreds you can make yourself.

10/10
