"This game flat out stinks"

I am a big fan of the Triple Play series, or at least, I was. I have played almost every Triple Play game out there, except for Triple Play Baseball (last year), which I heard was a big bummer. Well, don't expect much more from this one, which is the worst ever. What happened to the Big League Challenge, and the old timers, and why did they replace Jim Houston and Buck Martinez with Harold Reynolds and Bob Costas. Jim and Buck were great announcers, and now they got these new guys that repeat what Jim and Buck said, but in a boring fashion. ''wow. there it goes. home run.'' I loved this series so much, and I refused to play other baseball games since this series came out on Sega. This game, though, seems like they just sloped it together, just trying to meet a deadline. When and if they ever come out with TP 2003, you should rent it first.

Graphics 8/10:
This is the only upside to this game besides the audio, with the 3D face scans and all, but they made the player's heads too big, especially Mo Vaughn's. WOW. It seems, though, that they basically focused on the graphics of the game instead of the gameplay. I'd rather have this game have PS1 graphics with the gameplay of Triple Play 2001 than this piece of crap.

Story 1/10:
''Throw a ball, hit home runs, score, and win the World Series. fun.'' This is all you do in this game. What happened to all of the fun stuff like the Big League Challenge that was in Triple Play 2001, where you could play as a small person in a giant house, breaking windows and knocking things down, or King Arthur's castle, or hitting cars and people in the sandlot near the office building. And what about the hidden stadiums or the old timers, or the Dream Team.

Audio 8/10:
The sound it good, but it doesn't make up for anything. I liked Jim Houston and Buck Martinez. They seemed really into the game, but now you got Harold Reynolds, who is ok, and Bob Costas, who doesn't make the game that exciting. The background noise of the fans and the vendors are great, which makes it sound like your really there, but that's really it.

Replayability 0/10:
You don't even want to play it. You beat the season, or won the Home Run Derby. Now what? You don't get a salary bonus or anything. Like I said before, I think that they just concentrated more on the atmosphere and graphics of the game instead of the gameplay and if the consumer would want to play it again.

Buy/Rent:
To buy or to rent, that is the question. I say screw that, just burn it if your stuck with it. Luckily for me, a still have time to return it. I can't believe that I waited a month for this crap, but since I ordered it early, I go the World Series DVD, which was nice of them. I just love to see those Yankees loose.
