Britney's Dance Beat

"A little diversion,Dance to Britney's beat."

Only 2 words can cause anyone over the age of 18 to cringe.The 2 words are Britney Spears.I'm not a fan of her music even though I will admit some of her songs are fun to listen to.So all Britney bashing aside this game is a pretty solid diversion from all your hardcore playing titles you may own.

Graphics::The graphics in this game are not too shabby for a PS2 title.The motion capture is pretty accurate and the character models are pretty nice as well.The backgrounds are kinda blah.But you won't notice them much when your playing the game.Cyber Britney looks just like real deal..to a degree.They could have done more as far as more facial expressions but thats just nitpicking.I like how the videos of the stage song play in the backgrounds.7/10

Audio/Presentation::The music is very good as far as sound quality.Its like your listening to the actual CD singles.The presentation is pretty basic in its excecution.Nothing special here.6/10

Gameplay::The game is addictive but not really deep.If you have any Bust A Groove experience you will do well in this.What the kicker is as long as you can keep the rhythm the characters on the screen will dance.The characters just do the dance routines from videos of the stage songs.Which is all well and good.But there is know real purpose to the gameplay other than to keep the rhythm to beat your opponent but as far as seeing dance variations like Bust A Groove is non existent.The gameplay,if there is any is very disappointing if your looking for a Bust A Groove like experience.But if you a DDR(Dance Dance Revolution)Player this is nothing new and you may appreciate it more.Also the game is compatible with the DDR Dance mat.The gameplay is very DDR which can be good to some and not so good to others.6/10

Replayability::Besides unlocking things.There is not much to play for but just for sheer enjoyment.The extras are for Britney fans for the most part.If your a Britney fan the extras will impress you.5/10

Final Thoughts::The game is fun to play but even more fun to watch.The motion captured characters are cool to watch as they get their groove on.For extras I would have prefered Extra characters and outfits for the characters to wear.But your stuck in the same outfit.The songs chosen for this game are 4 of Britney's top hits and one song from the movie Crossoads.The price is reasonable but still is a little pricey for the very basic gameplay and repetitive nature of the game.A plus to me is how diverse the characters are as far as ethnicity goes.Overall this game is a rent before you buy for most gamers.If you are a Britney Fan this game should be a keeper in your game library.Final Score 7/10
