"This Game Will Make You Think Twice About Swatting That Mosquito....."

Mister Mosquito: The Yamada's Summer is one of the best games I have ever played. It has a strange plot: You are a mosquito. While it may deny the fact that all blood-sucking mosquitos are female, you will still enjoy making the Yamada's summer miserable.

Plot
Rating: 9/10

You are a mosquito. Its summer. You must suck enough blood from the yamada family of 3 for the winter. Why do I give it a high rating? Its so original and unique! They did a good job on this.

Sound & Music
Rating: 9/10

The sound and music are very catchy, and don't be surprised if you find yourself humming to some. The sound of the mosquito's proboscis is so realistic. I was taken by surprise when I heard the sound and music.

Graphics
Rating: 10/10

I thought the faces were going to be mashed, and boy was I wrong. The faces, bodies, and rooms are amazing. You can tell depth, texture, and almost everything else. Again, this is about as real as you get.

Controls
Rating: 9/10

While they start out a bit confusing, you get used to them easily enough. They are easy to hit when you need to go fast, and they don't hurt your hands.

Artificial Intelegence
Rating: 9/10

While this could have been better, it was good enough. The characters arent some no-brain bodies that walk around shouting ''Die Mosquito'' in a robot voice. They know when you stick them in the leg, they know when you fly right across their face, and they know when you smack into them. Your not going to fool these guys easily.

Challenge
Rating: 8/10

This was easy pickings, all up until stage 11. Then it got really hard. You want to find out what happens in stage 11? Sorry, your going to have to find that out on your own. Still, its not much of a challenge. You'll zoom through this.

Items
Rating: 8/10

Ok, the items are very scarce, and very hard to find. But, what do you expect? Your a mosquito. While there are heart rings, hearts, and EX Tanks, they are not that hard to find if you have a guide. If you don't, well, get ready for a looooong day.

Secrets
Rating: 8/10

Yadda yadda yadda. There are no secrets in this game, besides the extra colors you get after beating a battle under the time limit. Thats about it. Yippe.

Replay Value
Rating: 3/10

Ugh. Once you beat it, its not fun any more. Go and suck all you want, heck, even try to beat the stages under world record times--and you will still tire from it.

Overall
Rating: 9/10

Ok, it could have been better. Still, this game is really good. Its a nice little game with a neat twist. They did a really good job on this game, and I hope there is a sequel!

Buy or Rent?

I would rent it. It doesn't have much replay value, but thats ok.

Now, think about this the next time a little mosquito lands on your knee.
