Grandia II

"Impressive RPG!"

At the start of 2002, I bought FFX. It was so realistic and good. And then, I beat it and also DMC. I didn't like GTA3 and MGS2 so I came to GameFAQs and people suggested Grandia II. I REALLY should thank the people who suggested me Grandia II. Grandia II was great. It's not better than FFX but it's REALLY good.

Note that this Review is not based on the Dreamcast Version of Grandia II. I don't own a Dreamcast and I've never touched one before so I've never touched Grandia II for Dreamcast either.

BATTLE SYSTEM 10/10

Battling in this game rocks! I was so impressed. I thought that TALES OF DESTINY II had the best BATTLE SYSTEM but I was wrong! I tried out Grandia II and WOW! It was excellent. You can see when you and your enemies are gonna attack. You can delay their attacks and even Cancel them. You can also strike them until they die before they attack. The battles need strategies, timing and technique. Sounds good? Yeah, it IS! I give it a 10/10.

AUDIO 8/10

Let's talk about the Audio first. The musics are so amazing. The Town Themes are so cheerful and I loved them so much. The voice actings was decent and the sounds are great. So the Audio is VERY GOOD! The battle themes are nice and so I give it an 8/10.

GRAPHICS 6/10

This is where it falls. The slow downs and graphical glitches of the North America version makes it a bit annoying. But you'll get used to it anyway (Hehe). They occur in most towns and also sometimes when you're encountering lots of enemies in battle. There are some Graphical glitches but they don't occur much. The graphics are actually pretty colourful and nice. It has an ANIME feel in it. The characters are cute looking but I have to admit that the glitches and slowdowns are a bit annoying so I give this a 6/10.

DIFFICULTY 10/10

This game's DIFFICULTY really is excellent. It's a challenging so I give it a 10/10. Boss fights are long and fun. But if you have strategies, you won't get in trouble!

BUY/RENT?

Seriously, Rent first. This is because that some people hate slowdowns so if you think that the slowdowns aren't annoying, you can buy it. So... RENT it.

Now... Overall... Lets do some Mathematics.
10/10 + 8/10 + 6/10 + 10/10 = 34/10
34/10 / 4 = 8.5

So Overall... 9/10!
