Britney's Dance Beat

"An under-rated game that's great to rent."

I strongly loathe Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, N*sync, and most other pop stars. My sister rented this game from Blockbuster. I just had to try it, and when I did, I was hooked, this game is a great for a new player for Playststion or Playstation 2.

This game reminds my of Parappa the Rappa. I will play this until DDR 6th Mix comes out.

Graphics : 9/10.
The graphics are for the most part useless when you are playing because you are constantly focused on the circle at the bottom left-hand corner of your screen. I never take my eyes off it. When someone else is playing, you become privileged to experience some pretty good graphics, on select levels, a video screen is in the background playing the music video of the song that you are dancing to.

Gameplay : 7/10.
The entire game incorporates staring at a circle in the corner of your screen with a radar-like scanner that passes over pictures of the buttons on the right side of your controller, as the game progresses, you will be required to utilize the D-Pad. For each consecutive ''hit'' in a row, you get combo points. There are only five songs in the game though, none to earn.:( You earn passes to view real life recorded videos of Britney.

Story/depth : 6/10.
Throughout the game, you audition to be one of Britney's back-up dancers. The farther you get, the harder your audition competitors get. Once you beat all of you opponents, you attempt a surprisingly easy challenge that I will not mention to avoid spoilers. Lets just say this game fails to have a particularly ''Thick Plot.''

Sound : 10/10
There is not much to say about the sound because the only thing the PS2 does in the audio section is blast some jammin' Britney Spears tunes. Once in a while, you'll get a dis or other remark from Britney Spears her self. All in all, the sound quality is great.

Replayablitiy : 10/10.
This game has the most replay value I've ever experienced. I beat the short game twice in a weekend of 1.5 to 2 hours of play. It just never gets boring.

Overall : 9/10.
When you tell somebody that the new Britney Spears game for PS2 is one of the greatest games you've ever played, they look at you weird. After they play it, they'll love it as well. Just give this game a chance, you won't put it down.
