Frequency

"Frequency, A music game for the PS2"
~`The Review`~
Gameplay-
Frequency is a game of music, meaning it should have lots of gameplay. Fortunately, gameplay is one of Frequency's highest scorers. Between sweating in fear that your energy will run out and cursing when it does is what makes it fun, on your toes fun. Also, this game isn't all about ''hardcore or no one'', meaning that all gamers, even those with no knowledge of the music genre, and pick this one up due to its ''easy as pie'' beginning. But for all you hardcores out there beware the expert mode. This mode will have even the most hardcore of gamers on their toes and cursing at the screen. If you think it can't get any harder, just wait 'til next stage.

Story-
Story? Why on earth would a music game have a story? Well, if one thing's for sure, Frequency's story is nothing more than B-rated cheese. Here it is, as Sony has it, ''You're going down a tunnel, pressing the buttons when the screen says so.'' The opening cinema can explain this even better, as it has a ''futuristic'' dance club with people (all with fake hair colors, mind you) dancing about. Then one person puts on goggles and plays Frequency (by touching the air in the place the note is). So there you go. But don't get upset, the story doesn't ruin the game.
~SCORE: 2/10~
Sound and visuals-
Ahh, the sounds of Frequency. Considering that Frequency is a music game, you would expect good music. While this is usually true, some songs are real annoying, and become tedious to play. But the good songs make up for these songs in the end. Visuals are just OK, but could have been improved easily.
~SCORE: 7/10~
Replayability-
After owning this game for all summer, I still find myself playing it daily. Even the hard and ''impossible'' songs will have you coming back the next day for another shot at it. Plus, the multiplayer of Frequency is wonderful, as is the online feature of Frequency Online. You're able to play against people to see who's better in an up to 4-player battle. You'll be playing this one LONG after you beat stage 5. Plus, then you have all of the bonus stages to unlock. Think you pulled a lot of hair the first time you played through? Guess again, because the bonus songs require you to play those songs over and over and over...
