"A awesome B-Game 4 a good B-Movie"

The Thing, the movie. In the twenty years ago John Carpenter's B-movie ''The Thing'', we had a young Kurt Russell, member of an Antarctic research team, to fight (or better to get hunted) with his research partners with an alien form. That alien had the capability of infect and assimilate other life forms. Once a people get infected, it looks like nothing happened until, the Thing decides to manifest itself... with this story as background, some one got the idea for a game. The game is not a masterpiece but neither the movie was great movie. After twenty years some one remember the movie, I don't think some one will remember the game so long...

The Thing, the game, twenty years later..
This is a first person shooter game, where you control an Blake, ''hard target'' American soldier. Sometimes you have at your side other soldiers that can obey (or not) at your orders. The game starts with you and your squad members, on a investigation mission on an Antarctica base. Soon you will find that a sort of alien species are...

Graphic 7 : not the best you can find on Playstation2 but not so bad. Some effects, like snow storm, are really amazing.

Sound 7 : I liked the speech, but the sound effects are quite good. I think that the walk rumor of aliens is not enough freezing.

Story 8 : If you liked the movie, then this story line can be satisfying. Blake is really cool, also we can say the same for many other characters.

Gameplay 7 : Some good idea like the possibility that your team members get infected by The Thing is really cool, bat a the same time, this has not been used at the best of thrill possibility. After all, the game is really cool, and you can have moment of full fire action, but either moments of strategy and little puzzle solving. The problem is the re playability, once you finish the game (and isn't so long) there aren't many motivation to play it again.

Some good ideas. The interaction with your squad members is really simple and immediate. You can issue rapidly simple orders, give or retrieve weapons and ammunition. Every character has an his own personality. They can became scare, and or nervous. They can trust or not trust You(remember that the Thing can infect one of them, but they think that it can infect you too.)

Buy or not to buy. I suggest to play at the game before to buy. Possibly rent it. U like or dislike it in the first 5 minute.
