Gauntlet Dark Legacy

Don't get me wrong, I like this game a lot, but it is just flawed to the point that it really isn't as great as you may or may not think.

Graphics - 6/10
About average graphics. Nothing to be thrilled about. Yet, it's nothing to be proud of. Though seeing as this was an earlier PS2 game, I guess they are ok. Just nothing spectacular now days.

Story - 5/10
Still not anything to be that proud of. it's a real basic story. As it is, the story doesn't really unfold as you play. You get most of it when you just start and the rest right when it's needed.

Sound - 7/10
Meh, the sound is good, it just gets old fast. You end up hearing some of the same music a lot when you get to the point where you badly need training before you can progress in the game. It's not really irritating, though. Just none of the music is something you may like very much. Well, at least you should find yourself humming any of this.

Gameplay - 5/10

Controls
It's easy enough, at least. The controls are basic, and take no time at all to master. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to do anything. No worries here.

Length
The game will take quite a while to beat unless you cheat with invulnerability. Then the game is quick for almost anybody. Even then it still may take some time to do. Depends on how much you play and how good you are.

Difficulty
The game starts out easy. Very easy. As you progress through the ''realms,'' the levels will, obviously, get harder. The bad thing about that is sometimes you have it easy still, sometimes it goes to easy to hard fast. You never know. The bosses are also very hard. Unless you have the special Legend Items, good luck beating them. You'll need it.

Multiplayer
Let me tell you, the more friends you have, the better the game is. If you have 3 friends, 4 controllers, and a multitap, have a party with this as the center attraction. You'll get loads of fun out of it.

Rent/Buy - Rent
This game is good for a go, but it's not worth that much money. If you can get a 5 day rental and the invulnerability cheat, then You'll be able to get through the game during the rental. If you can't and found a cheap version of the game, go ahead and buy it. You'll enjoy it.
