NBA Live 2003

"Good game..missing points"

I'm going start off being honest, you may want to try nba 2k3 first unless you like nba street type games. This game is so unrealistic its not even FUNNY. First off i hit a three wit Todd Macculloch, need i really say more? Second is blocks, when you do get a block it flies 50 feet down the court or in the stands. In a 5 min game you'll most likely end up with 10-15 blocks, 10-20 steals, and 140 points. Three, stats unfortunately increased WAY too much since last years(Kobe was 88 overall last year this year he's 96...give me a break!). Four,(problem may only be with me since I love rookies for some reason)some rookies are way under stated i mean in franchise mode i got a rookie once with 89 overall to start! Then people like Jay Williams and Drew Gooden have 79-80, im not saying to make them like 85-88 but a little better would be appreciated. Ok now with the good stuff lol.

Graphics-9: The graphics in this game are beautiful and they made it more realistic, and I like the point where players duck more to speed by defenders that was a nice touch. Dunks are beautiful although they took out Vince Carters under the leg dunk which made me sad :( and they should also add T-Mac's off the backboard dunk I would faint if I saw that. Facial expressions are great too since I doubt that you would have a straight face when going up for a glass busting hardcore dunk(no unfortunately glass actually doesnt break :()

Gameplay-9: Where this game excel's the gameplay is amazing especially with Franchise mode you can draft rookies and make them much better(my jay will is 96 ov now). If you play a dunker like VC or T-Mac you'll get most fun out of the game since dunks are AMAZING.

Replayability-9: With Franchise mode and online capabilities you will be on this game for HOURS its so much fun. Unfortunatly a Franchise only lasts 10 years, next year they should make it 15-20 it would make it better.

Sound-6: Ugh, music is SOOOO ANNOYING!! and me liking rap really says something at the end you will want to shoot hot karl and snoop dogg and whoever sings drop drop, at first the songs are a cool addition but GRRR they are so ANNOYING!! Sounds effects are great though the crowd really gets involved, but like all sports games announcers will get annoying.

Overall-9: Game is very good overall just missing a few points that they will most likely fix next year(*prays for T-Mac dunk*) and you WILL be stuck on this game for hours, but like I said I would rent both this and nba2k3 and see which one you like better...its a thing of taste really.

Rent/Buy: like i said rent both nba 2k3 and live and see which one you like better and if you like live then buy
