"Please stay away from this game!"

Unfortunately when I bought my PS2 from a friend he included Fantavision with it. Oh what I would have done had I known back then what I know now. This game is boring and repetitive in every way. And while this might seem trivial the opening is the worst in the history of video games.

Introduction

The point of Fantavision is to detonate fireworks before they fly off the screen. IF you think this is boring your 100% correct. Now on with the review.

Graphics 7/10

While this might seem a bit biased as I'm rating this after just playing Metal Gear Solid 2 there's really nothing spectacular about them. While the colors are nice and bright that's the only thing that's defined well. The cities below you are just black blobs with white specks which I suppose are lights. But like I said this might have been good when this game came out.

Gameplay 3/10

This is really what hurt the game. Your supposed to lock on to 3 or more fireworks by moving a line coming out of a little circle in the middle of the screen then pressing X to lock on and then pressing [] to detonate them. While this might have seemed good in concept it falls flat on it's face in the game. The problem is that when your trying to lock on to a firework that's 1 millimeter away from another one on the screen the result can be catastrophical. I can't tell you how many times I've screwed up a perfectly good round because of this fault.

Sound 4/10

Again another bad part of this game. The sound is extremely repetitive and it's bad enough in the first place. The fireworks always sound the same and hearing ''pew pew pew pew'' can get on your nerve's quite quickly. The music is okay though, it's a kind of smooth jazz but it's so quite you can barely hear it over the aforementioned fireworks.

Replayibility 1/10

I wanted to put this as a 0/10 but the rules wouldn't let me. The reason for this is there is no replay value. Once you pick up this game you'll never want to play it again. And even if you do like the levels take so long you'll probably fall asleep through the 2nd level if you don't take a break. There is a 2 player mode if you can convince somebody to play it with you though.

Rent or Buy, or None of the above

None of the above, This game is appalling in every way. Unless you'd like to waste 5 bucks to rent this game stay away! All in All it's a bad idea with even worse execution.

Final Score 2/10
