Dynasty Tactics
Review by mavericace
"A game for the thinker."
Well you either like this game or you dont thats about all i can say. This game combines a Final Fantasy Tactics like battle style with a thought process more like the good old game of chess. If you enjoy either of these 2 games and also appreciate the three kingdom story then i think you will enjoy this game.
STORY--10- I think that the story line is one of the best parts of this game, not only can you play a historical like path but you can also follow a series of re playable what if scenario's. I belive no matter what path you chose the story is exciting and at times surprising.
GRAPHICS--5- The graphics on this game are not the greatest but what do you expect for a strategy game. Some of the cut scenes have a nice look to them but most of the time you will have to settle looking at a map or a playing board.
SOUND--6- While the music is quite good in this game some of the voice acting is to be desired. Also i get tired of the same stupid voices saying the same phrases over and over.
REPLAY--10- I dont know a game that has more replay value then this. With 3 different playable characters and between 5 and 7 endings for each you definitely get your money's worth.
DIFFICULTY--9- This may be something that frustrates people but to me it is a plus. I have found in many games the difficulty is just so easy where the games actually become no fun. This game is a challenge but with some care full planning and some practice this game is very win able.
CHARACTERS--6- Although this game does not have a single main character it does develop certain characters thoughts and personality's. One thing that some fans of games such as the DW series and the ROTK games might not like is that many important characters of the time were kind of overlooked and often misplaced. For example it is possible for the Shu kingdom to recruit the powerful Dian Wei and this is kind of unrealistic.
FUN FACTOR--10- I have had more fun with this game than most others for a while. Not only do i enjoy the constant challenge of this game but it keeps me playing on and on with little to no skip in tempo.
By my rating system this game gets a solid 8 not bad at all. Over all i would suggest renting this game before you buy though because some people are not fans of this style of game play and it does take a bit of getting used to.
