Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon

"Sieg Zeon!!!"

It is the year UC 0079 and the Earth Federation and the Duchy of Zeon have been fighting a brutal war. This game takes you to the last few months of the war known as the One Year War to most.

In this game you will get to be either a brave Zeon fighter or a Feddie fighting for that rotten Federation. In this game you get different mobile suits depending on the side you are fighting for (you will even get some captured mobile suits) in the campaign mode. There is also an arcade mode and a versus mode, so you and a friend could either fight each other or fight together against the enemy. Another great thing about this game is that you get to see Gihren Zabi's speeches, but unfortunately they are redun in a very bad way so it is not the original animation from the show (the words are the same though, pretty much). In the campaign mode you will get to fight in missions that are from the show. You will even get to fight side by side against other characters like Char or Ramba Ral. Sometimes you might have to fight other characters to, you might even get to kill one of them (I killed Ryu) it is difficult to kill them though.

Now for the main part of the review.

Graphics

The graphics for this game are excellent especially for the mobile suits. You should see them as you destroy a Feddie GM [G] with a gouf's heat rod, they are astounding. Also the backgrounds could also be pretty good to like how you could just look for miles around if you boost on to a mesa in the Grand Canyon (they call it Great Canyon in the game). Sometimes the buildings just don't look right though.

Game Play

The controls for this game are very good and easy to learn. They are very simple and that is a good thing.

Sound

Music

Allot of it is taken from the show. If you are into J-Pop then you should like it that they throw in some of that for certain areas like Jaburo or A Bao Qu.

Sound effects

These are also very good to. I just love the sound of your bullets as they hit a Feddie GM.

Voice acting

Well it could be bad some times, but over all not that bad. Of course they did get the actors from the show to do it. I did find it strange that how when Gihren Zabi says ''Hail Zeon'' (he's supposed to say Sieg Zeon, but it doesn't matter) it did not sound like it had as much feeling as it did in the show.

Replay value

Since you could play as both the Zeon and the Federation you get over 200 missions to play and replaying a campaign is always fun, so you might end the war with a better rank or something>

Buy or rent

Blockbuster doesn't carry it, but if you do find a place that rents it I advise you do if you just feel like beating campaign mode for one side once.

If you are a fan of the show or mecha games I advise that you get this game.
