Rygar: The Legendary Adventure
Review by rob1out
"Umm... this game is cool, didn't you know???"
When I first played this game, I was wondering why I bought it. Than after a while, I got to play as Rygar, and I gotta say... he’s pretty awesome. You get to star as a gladiator back during the Roman Empire days; it stars all sorts of mythological creatures. But wait, I haven’t got even to the good part. Rygar gets as awesome weapon called the Diskarmor, which is like a yoyo blade shield kind of thing, which is just AWESOME. If you've played the NES game and liked it, chances are you will LOVE this game. If you've never heard of it, read on. Onto the review.
Story :
If you’re into Fictional History, this game is awesome. It’s also mythological and has a lot of detail. You Star as Rygar, A gladiator who knows nothing but fighting and war. And the only person who probably meant anything to him was taken; this was the princess of Argus. The Titans, the creatures who tried to overtake the gods, as the supreme rulers of the earth captured her, and it’s up to you to save her. In two words: Big Adventure. Pure goodness.
Score:10
Graphics :
There’s nothing too complain about the graphics, they are good. There isn’t much CGI, but there isn’t much of that in games anyways, and they don’t look like much since we've been spoiled by other graphics of games. The environments are detailed, like curtains blowing from the window. You get to see the view of the ol' Roman Empire. The camera Angles are bearable, but may annoy you.
Score:9
Game play :
This is where the game shines, you get to get a Diskarmor, and you swing it around at foes. And there are all sorts of combos and combinations, that it just goes completely crazy. There are different kinds of Diskarmor, and abilities to get. You don't really have to worry about poor game play, because this game rocks in it.
Score:10
Sound :
The Music is well, it’s not busting your ears or too soft of music that it makes the game seem too happy. Its right where it’s supposed to be. You get scary music when your in a creepy place, or when you are outside you get calming music. Whenever you’re near an enemy the music changes, and gives you a well warning. The Voice Acting is decent, it’s nothing like what Kingdom Hearts has, but it’s good.
score:9
Controls :
These Controls are the Basic for any other adventure game; you got your X as jump and attack buttons and more. It won’t be any problem. They are easy to learn and you should adapt as fast as you play the game.
Score:10
replay ability:
This game you can play over, and over, and over again till you get tired of it. There are many different modes if you want a harder challenge, and if you beat the game, you get to continue again having the same stats. There’s also a bunch of different ways you can play and armors. Tons of Features.
score:10
Final Thoughts:
It’s a really good game, the only way you would like this game is if you hate adventures, but even if you hate adventures I suggest picking this up to see what a real adventure is like. It may take time to find this game, but it will be well worth it. Be sure to add this to your game list, because if you don’t, you will be missing on one of the greatest games out for the PS2.
