Wild Arms 3

"The truth about Wild Arms 3"
Alright ladies and gentlemen today I'm going to tell all of you what there is to know about this game before buying or renting it. Don't worry no ending spoilers or anything like that I swear! Also though I am a big RPG fan Wild Arms 3 is a bit of a disapointment and a good thing.
Control 10/10:
alright the controls on this game weren't bad, moving around was easy, the horses were fun, everything was well adapted for the ps2. No big complaints here so lets move on.
Gameplay 7/10:
now have any of you ever complained about doing the same type of suck @$$ mission over and over? Then you are gonna hate this game with all your heart and soul because throughout the whole game all you do is talk, get directions, spend hours looking for the dungeon you need to go to (thats right you have to ''search'' for everything for it to appear on the world view by mashing the [] button) crawl through it, beat a boss, get a worthless treasure or no treasure at all, repeat. ZzZzZzZzZz boring. The turn table battle system is boring to. I mean for gods sake compared to games like FFX you think Wild Arms 3 could have mixed things up a tad? Its the same old same old and all you RPG players know what I'm talking about. Sure you have cool like special ''force'' options and when the time comes ''arcana'' (aka magic) but its nothing out fof the blue.
Story 6/10:
now here is where the game takes a suicide jump. The story is....''interesting'' in its own traditional RPG way. But frankly it doesn't make a lick of sense. The world ''filgaia'' is just as ****** up as it always was. Demons or some unknown force threaten the planet and only a couple of ''drifters'' can save the day. First off I found it hilarious that they called the heroes in this game ''drifters''. I mean are these the same ''drifters'' that hang around the bad parts of town unclean and unshaven stradling an empty whiskey bottle begging for a quarter? Those ''drifters''? Believe me ''bums'' and ''drifters'' are one in the same. Only thing is ''drifters'' move around is all. Now I can understand why they would call them ''drifters'', I mean after the first one where they called them ''dreamchasers'' you get to thinkin maybe media vision was just stoned? I mean wanderers would have worked just as well, even travellors, or warriors, or rogues would have worked dandy. But ''drifters''? Beside that the characters got on my nerves too. First off Virginia Maxwell (yeah i recognized the last name from Wild Arms 1...relation anyone?) anyways shes the cowgirl leader in this whole mess, and frankly I can't for the love of god see why? First off you have Jet Enduro, Clive Winslet, and Gallows something or other. Now all these guys are older then her and they are guys! Not saying women can't be leaders and all but you have to think they would have put up a fight against her being leader right? I mean for crying out loud Clive is the oldest of them all (30...wow by the time I'm that old I'll be bald fat and ugly) and he is putting her up as leader? Doesn't that say something at all? He's 30 and he lets an 18 year old unexperienced girl like her be leader!!! The ****! Does he have no pride? Does this make any sense to have the least experienced of them all who has never even ''killed'' anything until the beginning of the game? Not to mention Virginias annoying little reference to birds. She mentions bird and having to fly to your destiny or some bs like that maybe 500 times in the first 2 hours. Moving on to Jet Enduro, my favourite character out of the mod squad because he looks better then all of them, has the better weapon (machine gun baby!), and all around has my fav personality out of the others too. He's the lonewolf type (now thinking maybe he should have been leader...ur saying ''what!..Why!'', well remember Squall from FF8?) and for some god awful reason he complains because he wants to work alone. Well if he doesn't like it so much why doesn't he leave! Why doesn't he just go when he keeps saying he wants to! Whats making him stay? And then you find you're answer. Him and Virginia were makin ''goo goo eyes'' if you catch my drift. Then theres good ol Clive that I mentioned before. He's old, stupid for making an 18 year old out of the 20 and 30 year olds in the group with more experience leader. Not to mention she's the weakest character. Anyway the guy mentions he has kids and a child in the game...everyone acts surprised and he acts surprised that they are surprised, buddy you're not Pierce Brosnan or Brad Pitt. You're not exactly right in the head either you lunatic ****! Finally there is Gallows, the most boring character of them all. He's supposed to be a rebel indian but the biggest thing he could do was run away for about 3 months and come crawling back kissing his grandma's @$$! (Yes he has a grandma and yes he kisses her ass). Not to mention when he meets up with the others he settles down like an aged dog. He barely says anything and only trait I deem worthy that he has is he hits on woman constantly. Way to go buddy keep trying!
Sound 10/10:
The music is spectacular! It fits the western world so freakin well it almost makes me wanna track down the guy in charge of the soundtrack and kiss him! At last good RPG music that fits the dungeons, towns, and battles!
Replay Value 7/10:
If the story and gameplay were better this woulda been a 10/10 for sure. But with the tired story and characters you doubt you wanna play this again.
Overall 8/10:
The music and the control save the day here for sure. They make the game pretty decent besides its many flaws (don't get me started again or I'll rant for 5 hours!). Only the most dedicated guru's of RPG's should play this. Anyone else don't waste you're money or you're time. Or you'll be disapointed and bitter. Remind you of someone?
