Dragon Rage
Review by WaterDrag00n
"Dragon Rage... a good game..."
Gameplay [7/10]: The game play was very good. Being a power full that flies around and destroys buildings and making loops and rolls have always been one of my dreams, and with this game, I could make my dream come true, at least for some hours. But the things that made this game a little disappointing was that you lacked the ability to do things. Yeah, you could do tricks, blow up buildings, eat orcs and animals, but that just wasn't enough. You should have been able to do more stuff, like walking on the ground (you could only fly as low as the game allowed you to) and the limit of height was just not enough. Dropping stones and skeletons on the orcs was a lot of fun, but there should have been more things to lift up. Some off the places was so narrow that sometimes my dragon got stuck, while the orcs were shooting arrows and ice on me. So if 3DOs going to make another Dragon game, they should think a little more about what a dragon is capable off.
Story [8/10]: The story was good, and it had many good sides, and bad sides. The story is about Cael Cyndar, who is the hero of this game. He and the other dragons have been captured and and enslaved by the orcs. The orcs drains the energy from the dragons or the dragon eggs to use the power as a resource, killing the dragon or the eggs that has the power. Pretty good story here. When Cael is about the get his power drained, he slaughters the enemy, brakes free and wants revenge. The one who helped him escape was Adara the Sprite, who will be one of Caels best allies in the game. They fly together to seek revenge on the orcs, who have captured Adaras people, and enslaved the dragons.
Music and Sound [7/10]: The music was good in the game, actually made me feel that I'm in the game. The only annoying part of the music was that sometimes the music fades away, slowly, and the restarts, didn't give much of a feeling that it fit in that level. The sound was a major problem for me. For example when the orcs were firing with their bows, the same sound all over! I did like the sound when you ate the orcs, or the animals, and I did like the sound when you destroyed up an orc building. But it was just not enough. The explosion when you destroyed a building (or a tree) was the same all over. Same problem with the allies you have with you. Sometimes they sound funny, sometimes they are annoying. They doesn't seem real sometime, which lowered the score a bit.
Graphics [5/10]: The graphics were as bad as a PS one. Cael was cool, but was badly made. Like, his mouth was always open (!). And the orcs was so poorly done that I almost only wanted to fly high into the sky, just so I didn't have to see them. The buildings were okay, but could have been more detailed. Eating the orcs and animal was was a laugh. Seeing the bites of the orces flying away when Cael is shaking his head to get the some of the orces bites down was pretty funny, but was so awfully created. Some of the thunder was in 2D, that you could see really clearly. But even with the graphic being so bad, they game was still fun to play. the only thing that was somewhat well made was the movies.
Replayability [4/10]: Not to bad, but I don't think I want to play it over again. Maby when I get mad at orcs or something like that.
Buy or rent: I would rent this game first, to see if it's any good. If you like it, buy it. If not, then don't buy it.
