ATV Offroad Fury
Review by KFM
"ATV's, stunts, and flying off of mountains!!!"
Graphics: 10
The graphics are amazing for being an early PS2 game. The ATV's and the humans both look smooth. When you fly off of the ATV, you fly into trees, cacti, trains, and more. The animations for the characters when that happens are so fun to watch, you will most likely be crashing all over the place, just to watch the characters fall, fly, and smash into things. The maps are gigantic, every one takes you a while to cross. The maps have all sorts of stationary, and even moving objects to jump or even smash into. There are also towers for you to climb, and cliffs to fall, or do stunts off of.
Gameplay: 10
The gameplay is awesome. You can play this game for hours on end. Though it has a relatively short single player mode, the multiplayer mode is enough to keep you occupied and make up for the short single player. You can race against a human or the A.I. in several different race modes. The game is 1-4 players with a multitap, you can race four of your friends, or compete to get the most points out of all of your buddies. There are several different stunts to do, and you can do combinations to get a lot more points.
Sound: 9
Some of the ATV's sound good, and some of them sound like go-carts and dirtbikes. Usually the bigger ones sound good, but some of the smaller ones sound kind of small. The music is great though, and there is enough to last you for the time that you play. The music has a lot of songs from well-known artists, as well as not very well known artists. The songs are longer so you they won't be hearing the same songs over and over...and over. Your riders also make sounds, when they fly off of their ATV, they scream, when they hit the ground, they grunt or make some other noise signaling that they are in pain.
Replay Value: 10
This game is still very playable after you beat it. The multiplayer will have you searching for new ways to make yourself jump higher, crash better, and score more points. Also, there are plenty of maps for you to explore, and plenty of jumps. There are even secret jumps that make you jump extremely far.
Controls: 10
I would give the controls a 10 because of the ability to tune your vehicle. That really makes up how you turn, land from a jump, etc. It helps to be able to turn how you want to when racing against the computer. Also there are all sorts of ATV's, from fast, to slow, to one's that turn good, to ones that don't.
