Review by GBA Master2002

"No where near as good as the original games!"

Spyro, a classic game created originally made for the Playstation console, has taken a bad turn. A new company has taken over the creation of new Spyro games, forever ruining the Spyro game reputation. This new game, Spyro:Enter the Dragonfly, is glitched up beyond repair. From Riptocs with long, Pinocchio-like noses, to the problem of the game locking up a lot, this game is hardly worth the price.

Story:3/10

For those of you who have played the previous three Spyro games, you know who the main villains are and that you have an object to get in each game. Some of the former goals were to free dragons, get orbs, and to find dragon eggs. In this game, Ripto, form the second game, is back, don't ask me how or why, because he was melted in lava at the end of the second game. This time his plan is to steal all off the dragonflies in the dragon realms. And of course, Spyro goes off to find the dragonflies, and ends up in a one-on-one duel with Ripto.
One Problem in the story though is the lack of cut scenes to move the story along. You find yourself wandering aimlessly to find the next level.

Gameplay:6/10

As all the Spyro fans know, Spyro is a very athletic young dragon who can fly at points, has a deadly flame attack, and a powerful charge attack. He now has four new abilities. One of his new abilities is bubble breath, which he uses to catch dragonflies. The others are ice breath, electric breath, and a new wing shield. Now, the gameplay is the same as the other games, collect gems, complete challenges, etc., but, the gameplay is slow and choppy, and the load times are horrible, often taking up to five minutes just to load a level. The glitches also lower the funness of the game, along with the terrible easiness included.

Sound:5/10

Well, it sounds the same as the other games, the music being the same xylophonic music along with new versions of the odd music. The sound effects however, such as the swirl of a portal, are somewhat different. Ice, bubble, and electric breath have there own sounds.
A glitch in the sound however, truly destroys the sound in this game. There are points when you kill and enemy, but you still here the sound it makes, or when you are nowhere near a portal and you hear the swirl.

Graphics:6/10

The graphics really haven't changed much, a few enhancements, that's it, I'd say they are good enough for a PS2. But then there are the graphical glitches, like as I mentioned before, the big nose glitch.

Control:7/10

Spyro uses the same buttons and such for this game, nothing too different, except for the new power switch button, L1, which switches Spyros breath power, and the wing shield, L2+R2, which protects Spyro from projectile attacks.

Overall:4/10

This game is a disappointment, it is too short, and the glitches ruining the fun factor of this game. It is hardly worth renting.

Rent or Buy?

Rent, or even better, not rent or buy, it's not worth it.
