Silent Scope
Review by ShrinaSoldier231
""Maximum Skill", ain't that the truth. "Maximum Thrill", not really."
INTRODUCTION
Okay, I did not buy this game. My dad bought it for me, okay, I just had to get that out of the way. Now, I had heard of this game before, and it never got me interested. So, my dad handed it to me, I took the game and popped it into my PS2. I played it, and wasn't disappointed. The game was bad, and I expected that. So, now, let's move onto the review.
SOUND
Well, the sound is not all that great, actually. The gunshots are realistic, but the sound is still lacking. They could had just done it better. But, I'm going to give the sound a 4 out of 10. 4/10
REASON FOR THIS SCORE: The sound doesn't deliver like it should
GRAPHICS
Well, the graphics are quite good. Actually, it's the best thing about the game. The environments are real nice. But the targets in the target practice mode, well, they're cardboard. But, there's only like six different designs. So, it was getting quite repetitive, and annoying. The faces on the targets are quite stupid. So, I'll give the graphics a 6 out of 10. 6/10
REASON FOR THIS SCORE: Dumb faces on the targets
CONTROLS
The controls are not that good. Moving around the target can be REALLY frustrating. Cause if you're trying to look for a terrorist, and you find them, and then you try to move over there to them, and you miss them, well it takes forever for you to go back to him. So, it really is bad. Well, I'm going to give the controls a 2 out of 10. 2/10
REASON FOR THIS SCORE: Trying to find your target is horrible
STORY
Well, the president and his family have been kidnapped by lethal terrorists, and the government hires you. The story is the same ol', same ol'. They didn't have any creativity with it or anything. Which, I know that this is an arcade port. But, most of the time, game companies add in something else for a port. But, oh well, I'll give the story a 2 out of 10. 2/10
REASON FOR THIS SCORE: No creativity
GAMEPLAY
Well, you got these modes to keep you going: Shooting Range, Story Mode, Time Attack, and Training Mode. The Time Attack is freaking frustrating. I got ALL head shots, finished it, and got an ''F''. I was thinking what the heck?! Now, with the story mode, the first level is fun. But, then the second level, it's frustrating and HARD. You have to take out something out, and the sniper rifle shoots slow, and you have to do it within a certain time limit. It's REALLY hard, so, well. All those modes get old within a matter of minutes. So, I'll just give the gameplay a 2 out of 10. 2/10
REASON FOR THIS SCORE: It gets old quick
REPLAY VALUE
Heh, I can't find any reason to play this game after you're finished with it. You're basically done with it after about an hour. So, with that said, I'm going to give the replay value a 1 out of 10. 1/10
REASON FOR THIS SCORE: No reason to play it anymore
FUN FACTOR
Well, like I said, the first level is fun. But, the rest of the levels are hard and frustrating. So, with this said, I'm going to give the fun factor a 2 out of 10. 2/10
REASON FOR THIS SCORE: It's hard and frustrating
CONCLUSION ON SCORES
Sound - 4/10
Graphics - 6/10
Controls - 2/10
Story - 2/10
Gameplay - 2/10
Replay Value - 1/10
Fun Factor - 2/10
Average - 2.71
FINAL SCORE: 3/10
BUY or RENT?
Don't buy this game, unless if you really enjoyed the arcade version. Don't rent this either, just go to an arcade and put in a quarter if you like it. Your dad or mom might end up buying it for you or something. But, whatever the case is, just play it in the arcade.
