"Not perfect but an all around pretty good game"

Ok, you've all read the pros and cons of this game, here is my own little review of Haven:call of the king.

First off I must say there are several game genres I don't care much for and one is the first person flying games, Haven seems to have a great deal of these especially towards the end, for the sake of the whole game I dealt with them but lightly, as the rest of the game I enjoyed. Although I got the feeling near the end of the game that some of it was rushed together just to finish it up.

GRAPHICS: Haven has decent graphics for what it is, there are some parts that truly look like a lot of work went into the it and others that are just there just to be there so to speak -space shooting levels anyone-, all in all not bad. I especially liked the graphics in the shield ball areas and the alien queens lair areas.

SOUND: Havens soundtrack is one of the best i've heard in a long time, very high quality music here, sound effects are you basic run, jump, shoot etc.. noises, however like I said soundtrack makes up for it.

CONTROL: Here's where haven falls just a bit short but let me say seasoned gamers like myself wont' have too much difficulty with it, newbies to this type of game will have some problems with the weapon accuracy and some of the really heartless inertia on some of the flying levels, -glider anyone-, I must say thank goodness for auto targeting on the rail shooter levels. Those with short fuses though I suggest you have an extra controller to replace the one your going to throw at your TV :-)

FUN FACTOR: Ok, traveller's tale's decided to give gamers what they want in a game, we have platform run and jump, we have rail shooting, we have monkey ball type levels, we have hovercraft-dune buggy-boat racing, we have a twisted metal type level where you need to destroy the other cars, we have rail space shooting levels, we have an indiana jones type level where you need to solve puzzles and avoid traps and pitfalls, we have a level that reminded me of aliens with it's run and gun shooting to destroy the queen. We even have some strategy where you have to collect eggs and hatch them while guarding them from being stolen. We also have some ship battles where we have run back and forth from end to end defending the ship against attacking pirates. There is even a couple parts where we have to control a jet pack and put out fires, and some glider levels. There really is a lot to this game, and with the exception of the space shooting levels, it works, look at it for what it is and this game really is a lot of fun to play.

RENT OR BUY: Well I bought it and I can see myself playing through it again to at least get the good ending so to speak I got the bad one -i didnt collect all the keys-, the rumor mill says there are three possible endings, plus a gallery to unlock, I know I must have missed alot because out of over 50 pics I only had access to 10.

Picky gamers rent this first seasoned gamers go out and purchase this title as it is a good addition to your library alongside other great action titles like Contra and Ratchet and Clank!!!
