Burnout
Review by Whosyodaddy2k3
"This game isn't a Burnout!"
What is the best racing game for PS2? Burnout or Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 or Gran Turismo 3: A Spec? I have played all three and I personnally think Burnout is the BEST. Below I will put why.....
Gameplay - This game is very fun. In most racing games you race and if you win you get points. On Burnout not only do you get points fo winning you get points for crashing! Depending on your crash you will get a certain amount of points. The game is semi-easy and semi-hard. On some levels you will breeze right through, however on other levels you make take one hour to get 1st. There are several modes on this game. They are championship, single race, head to head, time attack, and special. If you have played any racing game for PS2 then you know the controls for this game. On the default setting X is go, square is brake, circle is horn, and triangle is to change the camera.
Also once you fill up your Burnout meter you get turbo.
Story - Its a racing game. What story do racing games really have? Well the main purpose is to win Championship mode, although there are sevral other modes to participate it. My personal favorite is the mode: Number of Near Misses, this is where you got to see how many time you can barely miss a car or barely miss a wall.
Audio/Video - Graphics are GREAT! When you crash it goes to a special camera view. Crashes cause dents and they look real. The sound is okay. It's not that good, but it's not that bada either.
Replayability - Once you beat Championship and the other modes there is really no point to keep playing. Luckily the multiplayer boosts up the replay value though. With the several modes you and your friends don't even have to race, you can have a crash durby.
To buy or to rent? - Definatley buy. Nowadays you can get this game for $15.00 used. This is a great deal that racing and nonracing gamers both should buy. You may see GT at the same price. Do not buy GT. In my opionion GT is the WORST racing game for PS2.
Final saying: Well there you have it. Its better then GT: A Spec and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 for many reasons. One is that crashing is encouraged and it has the best graphics out of the three.
