Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends or DW3XL is an addon to Dynasty Warriors 3, as you may have already guessed. It features 7 characters, a beefed up challenge and some other fun features.

It's not bad, but not great either. However judging by the game type, does it really need that great of a story? I say no, so it gets an 8 out of 10. I like checking out the story behind the battles, and it has re-occuring characters which is good enough for me :P

Sorta shotty camera angles make it hard to get a good view of your character especially when you have to pull an one-eighty to get guys behind you. Other than that, this game is great. The button combos are rather easy, but are still fun to use. You can move around easily and go anywhere on the map, including up onto castle walls to shoot people with your bow and arrows instead of slicing them up with your sword or dragon pike. Anyways, the gameplay is great.

Pretty smooth and good. Backgrounds and characters all look perfect, except some cut scenes have some bad imaging when they try and give a full view of an opposing General. Overall, these graphics are spelndid and should be reveled in :P. If you're wondering why I didn't give this a 10, it's because there will be always better and better graphics coming out, so no game should really recieve a 10, as no graphics are perfect either. At some camera angle, a game is not perfect.

I like the sounds of the battle scenes and the ancient asian music played throughout the whole game. It's pretty cool and easy to listen too. I don't mind it, it's not bad, and it fits the game, so 10/10 instantly, mainly because it doesn't get tiresome.

For this addon, the challenge has been greatly increased. And I mean greatly. The officers and generals actually can beat you down just as easily as you could do to them in Dynasty Warriors 3. This game offers a great challenge, and awesome replay value. The storyline differs for each of the 7 characters, and playing with a friend is also fun. I'd replay this game anytime, so it gets a perfect rating in that respect.

Great game, but just lacking a couple of things. The main downfall is that it is infact an addon, and you need the original Dynasty Warriors 3 to play all of the features in the game. With the addon you are limited to 'xtreme' modes, which offer the greatest challenge anyways. If you liked Ominusha or any other samurai type game, you'll love Dynasty Warriors 3 and more so it's addon, Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends.
