"This game is a few bricks shy of a load....."
While I am not aiming to completely BOMB Agetec, they could have done better. I got this game on EBay, and I am not sure that the $30.00 or $35.00 and the 1-2 week wait was worth it. Aside from the fact that the punk sold it in ''Good Condition'' (it had a scratch on it and skipped and froze sometimes), it wasn't exactly what I expected when I got it.
Story:
There isn't much of a story. You are on a freaky island, and there are monsters. This is an action game, so that means no random battles for all you RPG fans. When you arive on the island, you are greeted by an eerie light that talks to you and appears sometimes to speak to you in a scary voice. There is also a sword or a bow waiting for you in the beginning. (You can choose to be a man or a woman.)
Music/Sounds:
One thing that PS2 was promised to have and DOES show off in this game is is voices. The voices are actually very nicely done. The thing about it, though is that the music is sort of freaky. It isn't the cool music that you hear when you play Final Fantasy and stuff. It is just some guitars playing music that sounds freaky when you add the atmosphere.
Gameplay:
This game has some okay gameplay. It is kind of like Eternal Ring. There isn't magic or anything. You go around and attack monsters to get stronger. There is also different equipment to get. When you get more equipment, it can boost your status making you stronger or faster. You can also buy it at stores. To get money to get it, beat enemies, or it comes along many other ways in the game. When you but new things, you can see it on yourself. For example, if you got a red shirt and blue pants, then you would see yourself in a red shirt and blue pants. You can also get hats/helmets, shoes/boots, shirts/jackets/armor, and new weapons.
Rent/Buy
This game has potential, but it wasn't for me. I don't know what you like, but I would recommend that you try this one. RENT IT BEFORE YOU BUY IT! I, myself wish I had done more research, and I recommend that you do the same. For its current price, which is probably $15.00 to $30.00, I would say that you should pick this one up.
Overall, this game was okay, but I would prefer to stick to a good RPG game. If Agetec, then I would most likely look into it.
