Dead to Rights

"A Decent game, not great, but a good time passer"
Hey. I rented this from Blockbuster on a whim and I was pleasantly surprised as I had heard it was pretty horrible but turned out to be not too bad at all.
Gameplay: It's not too much of a thinker. Most of the missions entail running around in a level and shooting people with all the guns you can find/carry. There are some puzzles scattered throughout but they are all pretty simple (IE find this item and use it when the item is 30 feet away). The game is very linear which can be a good or a bad thing. I, personally, like to have some choice but not all games are suited to that. It is fun to play with some of the more powerful guns (like my personal fav, the shotgun)and the cheat with the guncons is really fun to goof around with. (There is a scene in prison where you aren't supposed to have any guns and instead be doing a bunch of fistfights. The enemies keep trying to run up and punch you and you just blow them away with your dual Guncons). There are also a couple of scroller shooter missions which are fun but hard as all hell. You have to keep a woman from getting killed by literally a couple hundred guys.
8/10
Presentation: Good menus and interface/Heads Up Display. It was pretty easy to control and switch betweeen things when neccessary but one mission is done in caves where you have to walk on long planks of wood or plummet to your death and it's really hard to keep going straight with any kind of speed as the camera angles are wacky and you have to use the analog stick.
7/10
Graphics: The graphics are relativwely good. The textures are pretty good and there weren't any noticable collision or model problems. They aren't spectacular like say Metal Gear Solid 2 or Dead or Alive 3 but they aren't bad at all. The game has an altogether dark and dreary feel to it.
7/10
Sound: The sounds effects were done well enough. The music does get kinda annoying but it is passable. For some reason I really like the shound on the shotgun.
7/10
Replay: I don't see too much in the way of a replay value but hey, if you really like it, you can go thru it again. It only took me about 8-10 hours to beat it but hey, I beat Devil May Cry 2 in half that.
5/10
