"Play the game!"

Well, this is a very very fun game, GO BUY IT! I'd end the review right there but for the minimum word count :p

I have actually been waiting for the game's release since beta3, which I'm fortunate enough to be a part of. It's not a pretty game, but it's addictive as hell. I've never played the PC version of the game, but I can fully understand why they called it ''Evercrack'' if it's anything like this one.

I guess I'll tackle the bad stuff first :p

The monthly fee, although it's only $9.99 a month, I understand how people may see it as a deterent. All I can say is that it's worth it.

Graphics, it's by no means the prettiest game around, especially for a PS2 game, much as I love the game, I think the graphics department does leave much to be desired. Don't expect too much, you'll be quite disappointed, it looks like something off the PSX platform, kinda rough around the edges. It's not fantastic, but it's not 8-bit either :p

Sounds, hmm.. this would be another weak point of the game. The music's kinda mediocre and the battle sounds are a bit annoying, once again, don't expect much.

I understand that graphics and sounds can play quite a big hand in affecting your enjoyment of the game, but trust me on this one, once you've tried it, you'll be more than willing to overlook them (well, don't like quote me on it or anything, but I did forget how not pretty it looked after like less than an hour, you may be more finicky, I dunno :p)

Gameplay-wise, well, it's a bit open-ended, I guess, you get allocated quests every so once in a while, and you try to complete them. But there's no time limit or anything, so you can pretty much do whatever you want whenever you want. To be perfectly honest, I have no real clue what's the storyline in the game, there's probably one, but eh, I don't care. It really doesn't matter much. You're an adventurer, you adventure. Whilst there's no real ''goal'' of the game (like you have to work your way to kill a last boss or suchlike), there's plenty of stuff you can do.

For example, you can do a quest, meet up with new people, go hunting for experience, travel the world to see the sights and other towns/cities, or generally just chill with friends. It's all your call, you're free to do whatever you so please, it's really fun (I especially grabbing a couple others and go out hunting. I know it doesn't sound very ''interesting'', but you'd be surprise how much fun that is :p)

I think what makes this game so enjoyable and addictive is the ''playing with other people'' part. The game has an awesome community going, it's worth getting the game just to meet some of them :p Seriously, I don't recall having so much fun with another game like I have with this. Between my hubby and I, we must've put in like at least 20 hours a day in the game, we're so addicted it's not even funny.

If you're willing to look past a few minor flaws, and you'll be open a great MMORPG experience never before seen on the PS2 :p (I know it sounds cheesy, took me a while to come up with that, and that's all you're gonna get :p)
