Yu-Gi-Oh! The Duelists of the Roses

"A good Yu-Gi-Oh! game...Except for a few things."

This is a wonderful game for Yu-Gi-Oh! fans. And even if you don't like Yu-Gi-Oh!, you still might like this game. I got hooked the first day I played it. It's fun with all the monsters, traps, and spells. The difference between this and the real duel game makes this unique. It gives this game flavor. You are able to pick a good side or a bad side. I like this idea, so you can see what its like on the bad team and on the good team. This game is a lot more strategic than Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories. It doesn't rely on power as much as that game did.

Graphics-9/10

These graphics are great. It's amazing that they could be this good, because of the many monsters they need to animate. I am please with the graphics. Wonderful vibe and color. How the monsters look(as some are never known because they aren't shown in the show) are very creative. Let's take Suijin for example. How the heck are you going to make that card into a 3-D object? the creators did a very good job. I applause to this.

Story-7/10

The story could have been a little more interesting. The time that this game takes place makes it a little boring, but it is still good. It may seem dull, but once you start a duel, you forget all about the story and focus in the duels.

Difficulty-8/10

To me, this game is pretty easy in the beginning. Too easy. But right now I'm at the end of the White Rose side and finding it very difficult. I would have been glad if the had an Easy/Hard feature in options. But this is fine. the collection of all the cards will be VERY hard and VERY time consuming. I have collected a very little amount of cards, so I expect to be playing this game for a long time.

Sound-5/10

The music is dull. When you duel, you're supposed to be hyped up and in a fighting mood. Not being serenaded by music. It has a classical tone and is very boring. it makes you feel like you are in that time, which isn't that great. When you first get this game and have your first duel, your expectations of the music is motivating, not lame and soft.

Characters-8/10

The characters are great. Even though they are the same characters as in the show with different names, they still show a great sense of character. Some characters change just a little of their appearance(Ex. Yugi's grandpa had white hair in this and has a different name).

Overall-9/10

The duels and the amount of cards make up for any flaws. It is very fun. I wish that the game was a little longer, but with the collecting of all the cards, this game is very long. A good game for any Yu-Gi-Oh! fan.
