"Another DDR, even better than the one before it!"

This is the fourth Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) game released in the USA. The first one was ok, the second on was well lets say not even worth it, and the third one got even better than the first one with more songs. Now, its time to get even better than those three, its time to go max!

Controls: 10/10
The controls for this game is pretty easy to learn. If you are using a regular PS2 controller all you have to do is you the press up, down, left, or right on the d-pad. On the other hand, if your using a DDR pad you use the arrows on the pad by stepping on them.

Story: N/A
Well, in DDR there really isn't a story. Just to have fun and stay in shape.

Gameplay: 10/10
The gameplay for DDR is pretty simple, there is a line of arrows at the top which is a up, down, right, and left arrow. During the song arrows will be coming up the screen and you have to step/press the corresponding arrow on the pad/d-pad. When the arrows come up the color of the arrow tells you what beat the arrow occurs on. In DDR Max they have green arrows that seem to be long, these are called freeze arrows, so all you have to do is hold it down until you reach the end of the arrow. Whenever there are two arrows at the same time (for instance a up and left arrow) you have to jump/press both the arrows. You also get judged on how accurate you stepped on the arrow (perfect, great, good, boo, and miss). You also have a life bar at the top and if you manage to lose the whole bar you fail the song. You play DDR mostly like this until the end of the song and you get rated for how well you did on the song.

Graphics: 10/10
The graphics for DDR really doesn't matter since all you have to do is to pay attention to the arrows. But, in DDR Max it has 60 FPS, which is better than the previous DDR (Konamix) because Konamix had 30 FPS, which makes DDR Max be smoothest DDR released in America.

Music/Sounds: 10/10
DDR Max has way more songs than any other American released version. With 71 songs in all, we have old good DDR songs that have never been released in American DDR version, like Rhythm and Police, Max 300, and more! Whenever you are about to lose the song, the background flashes red with the words danger and the the announcer starts saying stuff like ''danger, danger'', and the background you hear ''booo''.

Replayability: 10/10
Well since you have to unlock a lot of songs you will be playing this game a lot. Also, if you want to master this game you will be playing day after day to practice until you can pass songs on manic. Even after you can pass manic songs, you might want to go beat even hard manic songs like, Max 300. Even after that you still have the Oni Courses to pass, which is a nonstop course you have to pass without getting a rating lower than great.

Fun Factor: 10/10
This game will probably be one of the fun games you ever played if you have more than 1 person. Since if you have two players playing you can battle each other to see who is better. Remember one thing, DDR is a game where you have fun and stay in shape!

Buy or Rent?
Go buy this game and two pads and play all day long and stay in shape!!
