Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven
Review by metallica846
"Rikimaru is back in Feudal Japan to kick a little ass!!"
Story 10/10
Tenchu 3 takes place about 1 year after Tenchu 1. Rikimaru escapes death in a rather clever way to come back to us as our hero. Rikimaru is given missions along with his partner in ninja crime Ayame from his ninja master.
Graphics 10/10
The graphics are AMAZING! K2 really went all out on this one. The levels are all polished beautifully and the levels are all HUGE which makes you really feel like a ninja walking through a Ronin Village or inside a Japanese Mountain. K2 couldn't have done a better job on this game in the graphics department.
Sound 9/10
The sound is pretty straight forward. When Rikimaru is hit he will grunt and when he runs you hear foot-steps but sound effects aren't really what this game is good for...its the music. The music is just perfect in this game. Its a mix of Tenchu 1 and 2 music but also some new songs in there to add to your Tenchu pleasure. You feel all the more like a ninja when the music is playing softly before you fall down and ram a sword through an enemy guard!
Control 10/10
The controls to me feel perfect. Some people will complain about how the cameras arent really working for them. Well that's nothing. You can manipulate the angles to whatever you want, and I never really found my self complaining about the camera. The buttons are all placed perfectly and there was really no need for me to change them around.
Fun Factor 10/10
This game is just pure fun. You can play this game for hours without a break and still be ready for more. The Co-Op mode and Vs Mode adds a lot of replay value to this game if you wanna bring friends over and do a little killing together. Playing this game alone is just as fun. If you dont have 2 controllers...dont let that stop you from buying this game.
Overall: 10/10
I love this game. I have been waiting for while to get a game that keeps me interested for all this time that tenchu has and i'm not even done with all the things to do. There are about 26 missions and 3 different layouts to each missions which is both riteous and kickass! There are 2 main characters and a secret character who kicks just as much butt as the others. This is a cool game and lets hope for Tenchu 4 in the not too distant future...
Buy or Rent: Definitely buy this game. There is so much to do in the game and a 5 day or weekly rental isn't even enough to get the full impact out of this game.
