Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon
Review by destiny star
"A Gundam game that will keep you entertained"
This game is a great Gundam game, there are lots of stuff to do in this game. I didn't know Bandai would release such a great game. Federation vs Zeon will keep you busy for at least a year.
Graphics - 8/10: I'll start off with the mobile suits. They are designed almost perfectly, the colors are right and the different actions the MS takes are done well. The characters are the cartoon versions of them, meaning that you won't see the characters in 3D in the game. The effects of the beam rifles/sabres are great. The environments are done well also, a lot of details in each level.
Sound/Music - 10/10: All the music and songs in this game is great. The music fits most of the levels perfectly. Go and play one of the Jaburo levels and you'll hear the best song in the game, it will be the background music. The voice acting is good, the characters will talk during the levels also. The sound effects are another great feature to the game. You'll hear all kinds of sounds when fighting an enemy such as beam rifles firing and when your MS walks/run.
Story - 9/10: The story of this game takes place during the One Year War, as seen in the anime series. It goes through alomost every single mission seen in the tv series. But sometimes, the game just goes off and puts you in ridiculous missions that have almost nothing to do with the tv series.
Controls - 8/10: The controls are basic and easy to learn. Every MS has the same controls which I don't think is good, each MS should have unique controls(which will make the controls harder to learn).
Gameplay - 9/10: At the beginning, you can pick your side, Federation or Zeon which will affect the story depending on which side you choose. You'll be able to fight on land, in the sea, and in space. In space, you'll move uniquely since there isn't any thing you can stand on so you'll be floating around everywhere, but don't worry your MS is still easy to control. Plus, there are over 50 missions for each side(Feds and Zeon).
Difficulty - 10/10: I'll tell you one thing about the difficulty of this game, it's HARD. Later on in the game towards the last 10 missions or so, it will be hard, you will get frusterated and will want to break stuff such as your controler.
Replay Value - 9/10: Since you can pick which side you want to be out of the two, you'll play the game over to see the other side's story. When you pick the opposite side of what you already played, their levels will be almost the same except for the fact that you'll be on the other side instead.
Overall - 8/10: If you are a fan of the anime series.
6/10: If you are not familiar with the anime series.
Buy or Rent? - Buy this game! It's worth 20-40 dollars for a great game, if you're not a fan of this game, rent it first. If you're not a fan of this game and you're a fan of mech games, you should also rent the game. This game focuses more on the story of the One Year War than controling your mech and destroying stuff.
