"Pretty Good...For A Cartoon-Derived Game"

Gameplay

I really expected more from this game when I got it...
I expected a more intense story, and player interaction. The game is all ''took-over'' I guess you could say, the ONLY thing you can do is battle the cards. Then, that's not too entertaining. One, hard, 30 minute battle for little reward. The slots idea was good, but the card-earning mechanism could of been better. This is really something that hurt this game, in my opinion, and others as you can see. The learning curve isn't very big, but the game is extremely hard. Eve trying to get help on these boards, and strategy guides didn't help make anything that much easier. Yes, I have to admit I rented it...but I wish I would of gotten Tenchu instead.

Sound
The sound/music in this game is horrible. There music volume is low, plus isn't too battle-derivited. There is no speech, which was shocking. With the little content on this game, they could of made Yugi the main character, and said his name. The music in-battle is boring, and monotonous. Battling to a funky beat is not energizing. First, you have these whole episode, or 2 style battles lasting about 45 minutes each! Then throw in music that makes you want to turn on the radio, and it's extremely boring.

Fun-Factor

This game could only be fun to die hard Yu-Gi-Oh fans. The long, drawn-out battles are...drawn-out, hard, and boring. How much fun can it be running away from a good card, waiting for a good card, when the Destiny Draw isn't that good. This game is as fun as watching paint-dry.(The use of an old cliche)

Graphics

The graphics in this game are poor. Just want to say that. Like I said before, with the few things on this game, the Graphics could of been way better. The battle animations were boring, and always exited by me. The slow, you attack, I attack concept is old, and boring.(notice how many times this has been brought up) The automated scenes are 2D, and when they talk, their mouths just open and close. Very poor quality.

Replay Value
The replay value is pretty good, because you have two sides to play on, but besides that, it's not exciting enough to play again. This means I'll return this game to Blockbuster when I'm done playing it. Usually, I rent good games an extra week. Trust me, you wouldn't catch me playing this game again.

Overall

This game could have been much better. Especially if the game actually stuck to the TV Show. Good attempt, but that's no excuse, you already made one for PS, and that had to be worse than this. Sorry, but you have to receive a 5/10 from SpecOps.
