EOE: Eve of Extinction
Review by TonyHelms29624
"Perfect for beginners"
E.O.E obviously is a game that seems more catered to people new to the action/adventure genre. As more experienced gamers goes, mostly, it's a piece of crap. It's not for everyone but it's exactly an acquired taste. OK now, onto the review.
Graphics: 6/10
The graphics on this game are bland at best. Think about it, their hair is the most detailed thing in the entire game and that's not saying much. The levels themselves look almost identical, aside from the jungle/forest level, making navigation very difficult. So, on graphics, I've seen worse, but I have also seen alot better.
Gameplay: 2/10
One of the games two weakest points. Fighting involves very little if any strategy. You see enemy WAP WAP WAP enemy gone. And the weapons ''leveling up'' is a joke. At level 1 you can only swing or them one time, then at level 2 it's a two-hit thing and so on up. The result is very frustrating fighting at times. The camera is also a joke. I found holding down buttons all the way through levels just to get through it. I found the Legacy Drive to be kind of cool at first, but when you get used to it the thrill is gone. The boss fights, aside from probably the last one, are so easy it is almost a sin. But that all changes when you get to the last boss then it almost turns into a legit game, almost. Having one good boss in a sea of bad one does not a good game make.
Music/Voice-Acting: 1/10
The games other major weakness. The voice-acting is worse than the original Resident Evil, if you can imagine that. Joshes favorite phrase seems to ''Give me a break'' because he says throughout the game every chance he gets. The music only comes out during cutscene and when you have enemies around. Other than that it is complete silence which I almost prefer to the awful techno music that does play.
Overview:
Like I said, I believe this would be perfect for beginning beginning gamers that need kind of an introduction to the whole action/adventure genre of gaming. However this is definitely not for older more experienced gamers that are looking for a challenge because this game does not offer that at all. On whether to rent or buy I would definitely say to rent first because this is one of those games that you either love it or hate it more than Glitter, lol.
