Disney's Stitch: Experiment 626
Review by Tim626
"Stitch invades the Playstation 2!!"
These are my personal opinions on Stitch: Experiment 626. If you agree with them, that's great. If you don't, that's great too, just don't yell at me about it. Thanks :)
Strengths...
~ You get to play as Stitch, which is alot of fun and very appealing! If you liked Stitch's personality in the Disney movie Lilo & Stitch, you will not be disappointed, as this game stays true to the character from the movie. Little extras like Stitch's alien mumblings and even how he moves around as you pan the camera add a touch of fun to the game.
~ Almost all of the levels in the game are alot of fun to play! I especially enjoyed the grapple gun levels, which I believe to be some of the best levels on a video game... period! I love exploring every nook and cranny of a level using that gun!
~ The game itself is imaginative and very well put together with much attention to detail. The graphics are very clean and well done. The sound effects are great too! I love the sound of Stitch's gun and the voices are very close to characters from the movie. Those involved in making this game should be proud.
~ Unlimited lives are nice. Having them available up front makes it easier than having to put in a secret code every time you play like you usually have to do for unlimited lives in a game.
Weaknesses...
~ Some sort of a two player option would have been appreciated. My wife loves the game too, and so whenever she finds me playing Stitch she wants a turn and it would have been nice to be able to play together. Also, when I have company over and they want to play Stitch, only one person can play at a time while everyone else has to sit. How much more fun would it have been to have one person controlling 621 and another controlling 626!
~ The jetpack. It is rather difficult to control and runs out of fuel much too quickly. I really would have liked to be able to fly around and explore with the jetpack, but instead I found myself having to rush through checkpoints and dying if I didn't get there fast enough. Easier controls and more fuel would have made the jetpack levels much more enjoyable.
~ The game is too short. When I was getting towards the end of it I stopped playing new levels and went back and replayed some earlier levels simply because I was enjoying the game so much that I didn't want to beat it so fast. A few more levels would have been great!
~ You keep losing your power-ups when you begin a new level. You finally get a powerful gun only to lose it when you start the next level. It would have been nice to keep your power-ups (Especially the grapple gun. What fun it would have been to keep for the whole game, not just the grapple levels)
All things considered, I really enjoyed this game and would definitely recommend it to anyone, especially to other Disney fans who have been disappointed by most of the other recent Disney games. Apart from Kingdom Hearts, this is one of the best Disney games ever :)
