Bloody Roar 3
Review by X Zero 1134
"A fast paced fighter with animal transformation"
(Good)
INTRODUCTION: This is a fast pace fighter with a twist- animal morphing. This is what makes
Bloody Roar 3 stand out.
STORY: 3/10
The game’s story isn’t that great, but since it’s a fighter I was kinda surprised it had one. It is
about people and their unique abilities to morph into beasts. Each fighter tells a piece of the tale
as you play them. Unfortunately, sometimes the story doesn’t piece together and makes no sense.
GRAPHICS: 8/10
The graphics are good. The backgrounds are detailed, as well as the characters. The design of
the animals are all made to look cool, as are the human forms. The animation is flawless, there is
no jumpiness, and I have not encountered any slow-downs.
GAMEPLAY: 9/10
This, as always, is what really counts. Combat is based using 3 combo buttons, and the third one
is only available when in beast mode, as are special attacks. While fighting, a gauge will increase
which let’s you transform, and begin wailing on the enemy. Although you are much stronger in
beast mode, your not all-powerful, so if someone is stuck in human form they can still fight back.
The combat is fast and fluent. It adds a new Hyper Beast system, which basically makes you
unstoppable for roughly two minutes. One catch though- once used, you cannot morph for the
rest of the fight- this includes any rounds remaining.
CONTROL: 10/10
The controls are very good, none of the special attacks are over-complicated or hard to pull off.
There are enough moves so that you won’t be repeating them over and over. Special attacks can
be instantly executed by pressing L1, so they can be used in the precise moment they should be.
The controls are responsive.
DIFFICULTY: 9/10 (0 being the easiest, 10 being the hardest)
Very difficult, depending on what your aiming for. If you simply wish to beat the game and
unlock a couple of characters, then any setting will do. However, the game is very hard on the
hardest setting, and Survival Mode is tough as always. The difficulty is varied to however hard
you want it to be.
LENGTH: 6/10:
It’s not the longest thing in the world, but what fighter is? There are several unlockables, but
none of them are really all that special. A few characters, and some playing modes that alter the
combat a little bit.
MUSIC/SOUND: 8/10
The music is like a rock type of thing, It’s all pretty good. Usually your too busy beating the snot
out of something to notice it. The sounds are crisp and clear, and has English voice acting,
something I wasn’t expecting. The voices are quite good too.
RENT OR BUY:
It depends, really. If you’ve got friends that like it, I would say buy. If you simply want to play
trough it and not really play it again and again, then I would suggest renting.
OVERALL: 8/10
A good fighter overall. Anyone who is fan of fighting games should pick this up. I shall warn
you though, if you’ve played two there isn’t much new here, a few new characters, improved
graphics, the hyper beast system, different levels, and an extra special attack for each character.
