"Street Ball Has Never Been Better"

Wow. I guess my review can start about this time last year. I got a call from a friend. ''Hey man you tried this new game, NBA Street?'' I told him ''No, it any good.'' He told me it was great and almost like SSX. I thought that ought to be interesting for a basketball title. I planned on renting the game, but I never got around to it. Flash forward to February 2003. I had been reading reviews of PS2 games, looking for something to buy, and I remembered NBA Street. I read the review and it sounded pretty good, but then, I saw the preview for NBA Street Vol. 2, so I decided to hold off on buying NBA Street. I spend an evening downloading video upon video of NBA Street Vol. 2 and I fall in love with the graphics, gameplay, spirit, and pure funkiness of it.

April 2003. I go and preorder NBA Street Vol. 2, now knowing EA Sports BIG's reputation, I knew this game had to be great. For once my Gamestop got in the game early, So late on this Saturday night, I get home and pop it into my PS2. WOW.

Graphics: 9/10
I love the style used, it makes the players look cartoony, but it works great with the style and funk of the game!

Gameplay: 10/10
This is where the game really exceeds. I mean, it's just so simple! It may not be NBA Live 2003, but if you want a game where you can just pick up and play with a few friends, this is that game. Even if you aren't into basketball.

Replay Value: 10/10
Oh man, I can't even begin to think about the long nights of tournaments I am going to have with friends. Not to mention, the 1P mode in immense, the possibilities are endless and the Create a Baller/Team mode will keep you busy for hours getting your Ballers ready to climb through the underground ranks of Street ball.

Overall: 9/10
Although this game is great, It's just not perfect. You can't trade players and the Create A Baller mode, though very fun, seems lacking.

Buy/Rent?: If your into Sports, buy it now. If you like good games, buy it now. If you like good games, but aren't much of a B-ball fan, I suggest renting it first, although you will most likely want to pick it up later!

A very, very great game. Keep em' comin' EA Sports BIG.
