NBA Street Vol. 2
Review by BAdB0i87
"Get Ready to Meet the Floor"
NBA Street is probably the best arcade style basketball game ever, and EA BIG took advantage of the popularity of the series.
Gameplay: 10/10
In NBA Street 2, EA BIG took the original gameplay of NBA Street and improved it. They made the game much more deeper by adding a variety of new game modes.
First, there's the ''Pick Up'' game. This is the basic exhibition mode where you can play either against the computer or your friends. You can use this mode to earn ''Reward Points'' to unlock secrets.
''Street School'' is mostly for beginners of the game to learn about the basic controls and aspects of the games. Veterans should complete this mode if they wish to unlock everything.
''Be a Legend'' is probably the most popular mode for current players of the game. You get to create a baller by picking their physical features, outfits, and kicks. Your goal is to play pick up games and in tournaments to get respect. You'll be able to unlock new moves, throwback jerseys, and build your character to the ultimate baller. You will basically go across the country playing games and even earning yourself a unique nickname.
''NBA Challenge'' is very similar to the first NBA Street. You will pick a team and play certain NBA teams in their respective regions. Each region will have a unique team of legendary players rather than the Street Legends in the first NBA Street.
Many new features are in like legendary players, Gamebreaker Level 2, new Street Legends, and the Off the Heezay move!
Graphics: 8/10
The graphics in NBA Street Vol. 2 are very well done. It has the realistic look, but also has the fantasy look that an arcade game would have. The courts and environment are done extremely well and the crowd isn't too shabby either.
Sound: 8/10
EA BIG did an excellent job of listening to what their fans want. The first NBA Street featured a rather annoying commentator. This game however features a whole new commentator that is actually very decent. His lines are quite comical. For the record, the new commentator is named Bobbito Garcia, and he's a secret character.
The music isn't bad either. Just your basic hip-hop beats that put you in the mood. The selection isn't very large though unfortunately.
The sound effects are amazing. Nuff' said.
Controls: 10/10
The controls may seem confusing for beginners, but it's actually very simple. It's similar to NBA Street where the trigger buttons are turbo. You press the turbo buttons in different combinations to pull off different dunks and dribble moves.
Replay: 10/10
Game is an excellent multiplayer. Many characters, jerseys, and moves to unlock.
Overall: 9/10
By far the best arcade basketball game ever created. Totally surpassed the original NBA Street.
