"The Best 3rd Person Shooter on PS2"

Win back: Covert operations was one of the first Ps2 games released, and it is often compared to Metal Gear Solid 2, i dont know why, this game is different, and in a good way.

STORY: 8
Basically, a bunch of terrorists have taken over a satellite that can shoot lasers at the earth, you (Jean-Luc) and your team must well, Win it back, hence the name. This isnt any remarkable story, but it passes, and for a shooter, its actually quite good. Fans of Suspense movies will love the story part of the game, cause thats basically how it is.

GRAPHICS: 7
The graphics are nothing special, but they arent BAD either. Theres not to much variation on the backgrounds youll encounter, but enough so you wont get lost and wont feel bored. Theres very little interactivity with the background except some pillars and boxes to hide behind, and the boxes can be blown up so dont hide there too long!

SOUND: 7
Pretty standard sound, it does it job, not to great, but not too bad either.

GAME PLAY: 9
This is where the game really shines. The enemies have good AI, they hear gunshots, footsteps, and they will chase you, no stupid guards here! Theres also some Stealth involved, not as much as the Metal Gear games, but more than most. he downside is that there is a lack of weapons, theres only 5 weapons, so not much variation, but its not that big of a problem, the weapons are all easy and fun to use, so its not like you got 5 weapons you hate. the only other problem, the controls take a bit getting used to, at first they seem annoying, but once you get used to it, you wont even notice.

LENGTH: 8
Wont give you as long as an RPG, but it has alot of levels, i doubt you can beat it in one rental unless you play non stop.

MULTI PLAYER: 8
The Versus mode isnt that great, BUT the BOT mode is awesome, theres tons of characters to choose from, and tons of customizable options, the bot mode basically you and your partner/Bots kill the other team until you reach the kill limit in one big brawl, its just good fun!

OVERALL:8/10

RENT or BUY? if you dont like shooters, i recommend renting it first to see if you like it, if your a fan of metal gear, or love shooters, buy it, you wont be disappointed.
