Resident Evil: Dead Aim
Review by reman4life
"A step up from the previous survivors."
Story:9
A high jacked boat in the middle of the Atlantic is where the adventure begins for Bruce and Fong Ling. A new ''bad guy'' is introduced......Morpheus Duvall, he is seeking revenge against umbrella, while scheming to make the whole world ''beautiful''. Obviously, Bruce and Fong Ling doesn't like his idea of beautiful, so after some idle banter, they team up, and do a pretty good job. Morpheus, however, will have none of that, unleashing new BOWs, a female tyrant(IMO the toughest one I fought so far in the series), and the effects of a new virus. for a survivor, it's pretty interesting.
Graphics:8
I think the graphics on this game are very clean cut, Other than the few times Bruce looked like a Cheshire cat, but everything can't be perfect right??? The BOWs are detailed very well. Capcom seems to be getting on the ball with making this portion of the series better each time. It wouldn't surprise me to see the next GS even closer to typical RE standards.
Sounds:8
Not as haunting as the mansion theme from Resident Evil 0, or pretty much all of Silent Hill 2, but it holds it's own. Capcom could not have done a better job with the sounds on the cruise ship. The Zombies actually sound like zombies, and not like people waking up in the morning. The music was so-so for a Resident Evil game, but good for what was a mediocre Survivor Series.
Gameplay:6
One thing that always get to me in the Gun Survivor series, is how painfully short it is. When I really started getting into it, it was over. Not to discredit the game as a whole, but I truly hope more gets added to make the game longer. It doesn't have to be Code Veronica or REmake long however.
Controls:6(8 if you have Guncon2)
Tough call here. If you don't have the Guncon, get it. If you aren't too swift of foot(or finger in this case) you will be in a world of hurt, especially in one area of this game. This game definitely lives up to it's title:Dead Aim. There is an auto lock, but at the same time there isn't(trust me on this one), I stress you HAVE to be fast. Unlike previous GS/RE games, most of the enemies....are faster than you, not to mention stronger, and travel in bigger packs.
Overall:8
Though painfully short, I am satisfied with this game. It introduced a new twist to the series, increasing the possibilities of what we just may be seeing later. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but buy this game, you won't be disapointed.
