High Heat Major League Baseball 2004

"A Truly great baseball sim."

One of the best baseball games i have ever played and that includes the old SNES games. The players look almost real batting stances pitching rotation everything. There is one problem some of the pitches aren't exact and the rosters have some fake players that are supposed to be real but thats besides the point.

Game play 8-10
The game play is AWESOME. If you've never played a full 162 game season in a game like me you will in this game. The stats in season mode only go back ten years thats why it got an eight. But this is truly on of the most realistic games of the year. It will freeze from time to time but othjer than that thats what really is the only problem. It is truly amazing in the sence that pitchers attributes are severly good. Tom Glavine will drive you crazy with his technical pitching. As Randy Johnson will overpower you with his fastball. I do wish that they would have left the option of being able to charge the mound in this game. Its still in the X-Box version but not the PS2 which annoyed me alot but we gotta live with it.

Graphics 10-10
The graphics no matter what anyone says are truly the best this year. The stadiums look surprisingly real as does the audience. The batters stances and pitchers rotation are almost exact. There is one problem about the graphics. I know it doesn't matter but if you start a game and you see white lines don't worry its just rain. Even the replays in this game is awsome. When you turn a double play with the second baseman floating you got the Matrix effect. The victory celebrations are poor. When you win it is like an overhead view with stick figures. One of the not many important problems.

Replay Value 10-10
As stated before you will most certainly play a 162 game season sooner or later. I've found myself playing 10 games straight all night not paying attention to anything else but the game. Trust me you'll wanna fake sick to stay home and play this game.

Sound 5-10
The sound is pretty good expecially the venders : i gotta pizza i gotta da pizza her'' very funny. The music in the main menu is pretty good. The announces repeatedly say the same thing every inning which can get annoying.

Overall 9-10
Not a ten because the game will freeze like right after the last game of the World Series or in a crucial game that you won. Then when you play that same game you'll lose. Altogether this is the best baseball game of the year.
