ESPN X Games Skateboarding
Review by Rebellion Xll
"One of the worst skateboarding games of all time"
I am a huge skateboarding fan. So I was in my local game store and I saw this game for 10$ to buy. I thought what the heck and bought it. As soon as I started a level, boy it was bad. Tony Hawk is superior to this game, in every way. From the graphics, to the soundtrack and many more things. You should stay far, far away from this game
Gameplay: 1/10
Wow, and I thought everything else was bad. The frame rate in this game slows down for me for some reason. I have no clue why it does. Either its a part of the game or its a glitch. The game is pretty hard itself to even pull the tricks off. Like you have to tap the button twice to do a trick. Which I find a little stupid, because in Tony Hawk you just have to tap one of the buttons once. The grinding in this game looks horrible, which it is a little hard to get on the rails. As I said before, Tony Hawk's gameplay is superior to this ones.
Audio: 1/10
ESPN X-Games Skateboarding has to have one of the worst skateboarding soundtracks of all time, seriously. Out of all the songs on the soundtrack, there is only one I like. ''A Place for My Head'' by Linkin Park is what gives it this rating. ESPN X-Games Skateboarding's soundtrack is meant to be ''punk'', which it really isn't. Horrible bands like Sum 41 are also on this soundtrack.
Video: 2/10
The graphics is probably what saves this game. First, the skateboarders look ok. But they aren't as detailed as the boarders in the Tony Hawk series. The boards look alright, but most of them look stupid. The levels look even worse. They aren't really detailed. The crowd looks like paper and so on.
Replayability: 0/10
My god I would never want to play this game again. The competions are really stupid. Like you have to get 20,000 points to advance. Which is impossible for me. I guarantee you that you will not want to play this game after you get it. I could only play it for 5 minutes and then had to turn it off, because it was so bad.
Buy or Rent?: Rent
Even if you are a hardcore skateboarding fan, you will still want to rent this game. But if you are a game collector, then just get it. I personally think I wasted 10$ on this game
